Dreamed about an earthquake tonight, there was an earthquake in Afganistan irl??

Tonight I dreamed of an earthquake where I live. I remember seeking for refuge while trying to find/preserve some buried artifact? It was a smal brown scroll hidden inside a block of sand. I don't remember what it said. I had to dig it out from inside the block, I skin it may have been inside a skin pouch or something that was also in the sand. There were other artifacts but I don't remember exactly what they were either.

And today irl I was scrolling through my twitter feed to learn there has been an earthquake in Afghanistan (scrolls and sand??). I live nowhere near Afghanistan. Kind of weird huh?

Dreaming of the past, but altered, as if it were my present.

Hey all, I had a weird dream last night and it was honestly kind of weird and I would not all dismiss it, but it felt significant so I decided to ask Reddit. So, here’s the dream:

I dreamed that me and my husband were not married yet and didn’t have kids yet, but I think the dream was present day. Like, we were our past selves but in 2022? I don’t know. Anyway, I found out I was pregnant in the dream and I was like “oh no, what are we going to do?” Then I remembered, “oh I have a subsidized apartment lined up that I’m about to move into, we’ll be ok.” Then I found out my parents somehow flaked on something causing me to lose the apartment. So, back to feeling worried and uncertain. My husband was very kind and supportive and “don’t worry, we’ll figure it out.” In the meantime, we stayed with our current best friends (context- my husband and the husband of the couple have been BFFs since they were children, but at the time in our lives when we were expecting our first and handling that surprise, they were living on the other side of the country and the husband was deployed to Afghanistan). Our friends were themselves as they currently are, in 2022. The part of the dream when we were staying with our friends was genuinely pretty pleasant. Chill, warm and snuggly feeling, I can’t remember specifics but it evokes the feeling of late night movie sessions with blankets and snacks if that makes sense. Anyway, eventually we got an apartment and I remember all my stuff was at the house I used to share with a friend (this is true, when I found out I was pregnant IRL I moved out of that house pretty quickly because we smoked in the house and I was trying to quit). After we moved into the apartment, I tried to take a shower but there were two huge spiders so I asked my husband for help getting them. Normally I’m not afraid of spiders, but these were really big. One jumped on my hand, and I freaked out, and I felt it bite me, and I woke up.

It just feels so weird. Like, a lot of stands out and feels important but it doesn’t make any sense to me. Especially the spider.

Dreamt About My Death in the Military

About 2 weeks before I shipped off to marine corps boot camp, I had a dream that really made me nervous about my future. For reference the US was still active in both Iraq and Afghanistan at the time. Anyway, the only part I remember starting at was being in a military convoy that had just been blown up. In the desert. I was laying on the ground and I knew or could see (can't remember) that there were dead and wounded marines scattered around the immediate area near me. I thought I was fine, but I looked up and about 50 yards ahead of me there was a golden elevator going all the way up into the sky. I remember thinking in my dream that I was dead but didn't know for sure. I woke up shortly after but it made me really paranoid about going on a deployment. Won't go into too much detail but didn't get blown up, still made me nervous for my entire enlistment.

Dreamt that the Taliban kidnapped me.

in the dream, I was heading to Afghanistan to help schools when the Taliban entered and kidnapped me, the leader made me his pet while I was crying profusely, fearing what was next, I considered a number of ways to off myself when he decided to take me and another captive person across the country to reach a destination, we reached another city and decided to stay in a motel when my fellow captive friend decided to take the opportunity to bring out his flamethrower and kill our leader.
we left the scene quickly and made our way to the nearest airport, we didn’t have passports but it was worth trying, they miraculously let us on the plane and we were back in america, then I went back.

Premonition of Russia/Ukraine war?

How do I even begin.

I want to start off by saying that on the day this dream took place, December 1st, 2021, I wasn't watching much news regarding the Russian troops which were on Ukraine's border at the time. I had head about it several times but it never seemed immensely significant, as I doubted a real war would occur.

Clearly I was wrong.

Here is what I wrote down as my dream once I woke up on Dec 1st:

*I was in the wilderness in Russia and I was switching between birds eye view and the third character. We were in an army truck driving backwards up a narrow dirt road. A Russian girl was steering on the left side front seat, and an American guy was operating the gas pedal from the right side. It was so weird that they were on different sides. We sped up the hill backwards at 60 mph miraculously avoiding crashing until we got to this little stream that crossed the road. The next to the stream was an old abandoned gas station. They wanted to rebuild the gas station and start a town. We walked down to the pond and The girl got in the water which was freezing cold. The guy got in the boat. I walked down to the shady side of the pond and instantly froze in place I couldn’t move at all and I was so cold. For some reason they just laughed and wouldn’t help me. The girl asked, “have you ever had French popsicle?” And I said no, realizing it means that the piss freezes in your urethra. Then it started to freeze but I managed to make it back to the sunny area.*

This is the transcript of the dream. I recalled this dream a few weeks ago when the war started, and immediately found a connection between the dream and current events.

The Siberian snowy mountains are clearly a representation of Russia, but also possibly the coldness of Putin/the Russian government. The army truck is a representation of war, violence, and the impending crisis. The Russian girl represented Russia moving towards war, which petroleum would have a huge role in. She was steering the wheel, but the American was operating the gas pedal. This could possibly be because of the US evacuation of Afghanistan, which made Russia more comfortable asserting its military might in Eastern Europe, which is close to the Middle East.

The American pressing the gas pedal is also analogous to the US buying petroleum from Russia, and 'fueling' their war (up until the recent sanction of course). In a sense, the Russian and the American were on different sides of the same coin, each playing their own part. I generalized the speed as 60 mph because it felt really fast for a dirty and icy mountain road.

Now, the abandoned gas station. To me, this seems to represent America abandoning the Middle East, which supplies a huge percentage of the world's petroleum. Rebuilding the gas station seems to represent Russia asserting former Soviet dominance in that region of the world. The development of a town around it represents economic growth.'

When we walked down to the frigid pond, the Russian girl got in. Perhaps this is analogous to the economic hardships the Russian people are facing due to sanctions. But she didn't seem too affected by it, more just tolerant of it. The American getting in the boat is another metaphor for the US withdrawal from the Middle East, as he metaphorically "sailed" back to his home country.

But what really scared me is how I just froze in place when I walked into the shadow near the pond. And how both Russia and America, represented by the woman and the man, just stayed there, laughing at me. Like they were in on it together. They just wanted to watch me suffer. The last part about the pee freezing inside my urethra is just strange and comedic, take that for what you will. And I have no clue why my brain decided to call that phenomenon a "French Popsicle." But it's hilarious as shit nonetheless.

What are your thoughts on this?

How do I even begin.
