What are possible meanings for dreams of pain?
If you experience pain in a dream, it can stem from feeling pain as you sleep. Dreams translate any input into symbolism, including input from physical stimuli. For example, you dream about getting hit in the head with a rock and wake up with a migraine, or dream about getting stabbed in the back and wake up with a stabbing pain in your back. Dreams translate physical stimuli into imagery.
Another possibility is your dream uses pain as a physical representation of a personal situation. You really are hurt emotionally or personally and the hurt manifests in your body. The body has nerve bundles in the heart and stomach, and related feelings are processed and felt there, such as love in the heart and fear in the gut.
What the mind believes to be real becomes real, to an extent, and your body can make real something from your dream to the point of pain and injury. Author Robert Moss shared a dream he had about seeing through the eyes of someone else as the person was shot in the chest. He woke up with welts on his chest where the bullets struck.
Pain and its causes are referenced in language, such as when a comment cuts like a knife, your pride is wounded, or you feel someone’s pain. In dreams, the wording translates into imagery and you actually feel a lesser version of, for example, the pain of a snake bite or acid thrown in your face. If the imagery doesn’t cause some sort of corresponding pain, you can bet there’s a reason. For example, the snake bite in your dream doesn’t hurt because you subconsciously know that the snake symbolizes your lover and the bite is a “love bite.”
People are amazed that they can dream about hurting a body part and wake up with a pain in that part of the body. Dreams are fully realistic simulated environments. In most cases, while dreaming you actually believe it is really happening, and your body can respond, even to the point of injury.

What exactly does this dream mean?
It was a room. Empty. Black, bit with white lines. As if you colored the lineart of the walls white. There were no lights but there was a faint glow, just enough for me to clearly see. There was...something in the corner of the room. Crying, muttering to itself, drawing on the walls with what I thought was a red marker. But as I inched closer, I realized its fingertips were cut off. And it was drawing with its blood. The blood was bright, not like normal blood. It was like, neon red. Very strange.
I don't exactly remember what it was drawing but it was drawing the same symbol over and over again. It was whimpering to itself. My brain automatically went "Help it, it's hurt" So I put a hand on its shoulder. It didn't even jump or get startled. It just stopped everything. It lowered its hand from the wall and slowly turned its head to face me. It had strange features. It was tall, skinny. But it still had like, basic human anatomy. It had a nose, lips, a chest, muscle definition (of whatever muscle it had) It was just a completely black skinny human, but with crazy eyes that were completely white. And they were...scribbly. Like if you took a white pen and angrily scribbled a circle on black paper.
It stared at me for a second, before saying in a raspy, hurt voice. " You're like my art in a lot of ways." It moved closer to me. I smiled slightly, " How so?" Its hand curled around my neck, but not choking me, as it leaned into my ear and whispered, " You were created. You have blood. And..." It leaned in with its hands still around my neck, its lips almost brushing against mine, " I can rip you up whenever I wish."
With that last word, it dug its fingers into my neck. Literally. Its fingers went through my neck, piercing the flesh. I choked a little bit. Then like a movie, it cut to a different scene. Back to it drawing on the walls. Then it cut again to it curled into a ball, sobbing, whimpering, muttering. Then I woke up with the horniness of a thousand 13-year-old boys. Which was hella confusing. So like, what the fuck?

I dreamt I had screws drilled into the back of my neck.
(19F) I had this dream where I'm being criticized for praising Jesus. A group of women (4-5) chased me down with a cordless drill. The main chick wanted a photo of my face so I ran trying to cover it. (Not sure if they were atheists, feminists or what) but in the house I was trying to get out the window because they tried breaking in and eventually made it inside the house. I ran out the window and got into my car and drove off. They followed behind. Shortly after, I went into a shopping center and they caught me. They had me pinned down. Then, with the cordless drill, the lady smirked as she drilled screws into the back of my neck. The goal was so that I couldn't turn my head. Also, one of them put a napkin up to my face, so I would lose conscious. My eyesight was getting blurry, and I tried to get up but was in too much pain.

I think I may die soon.
I will not tell the entirety of the dream. because most of it had no correlation, I know that.
It was just tests and reality checks, telling me to get my shit together since I'm a grown ass man who can control his ownself.
Now, I will mention an irl fact, I have a problem. I am parasitic. Whether you believe it or don't believe it, it matters little to me.
I can feel pains in my heart, things entering and moving around in my heart. It feels as if things are there, tugging and just moving. A stinging, sometimes.
Thats just to provide context.
Now onto the part of the dream I haven't been able to clearly decipher.
A book opened, and there was a kind of children's fairytale theme to it. There was a picture of a flat 2D grassfield, with the Sun in the sky and grass on the ground. On the ground laid a heart, my heart, I knew that right away. Perfect looking, rhythmically beating soundly.
Then, the Sun fell and the Moon rose. The once perfect heart that laid there was now black and battered. There were holes in it, and a green acidic looking ooze flooding from out of it. It's rhythm was all off, beating faster than its supposed to.
And then, The Sun rose again, and all was normal.
Until it fell again, then the black heart appeared once again.
There were 5 days of light, and 4 nights. The fifth day, a black bird flew in and grabbed my heart by it's beak and descended into the earth, dropping my heart into a lake of fire.
I woke up shortly after, and my heart was beating faster than usual. The Sun hadn't rose yet, but it was still morning.
One detail I forgot to mention, was that the word AVACADO was on The Sun on the fifth day before the bird grabbed my heart. I dont eat, or talk about Avacadoes.
Even writing this now, at night, I can feel my heart aching, beating irrhythmically, feeling ill.
A day passed and at night I prayed and asked what that dream was meant to show me.
I went through a test of some sort, overcoming something I would usually succumb to, and everything went pitch black.
In white letters, the message appeared.
"Learn to read, Troubled One.
Learn to read, quickly.
Learn to read."
Another day has passed, and it is now night.
I don't know what I wanted coming here. Maybe I just wanted to tell someone, get over my loneliness or ask for help. I'm scared but I feel like I shouldn't be.
Oh, something to note, I talk to the Sun for comfort. I call it Mr.Sun, and ask it to carry my prayers and messages to the Lord and Jesus. It's just something I do. I dont know if that carries any meaning, but yeah.
I will not tell the entirety of the dream. because most of it had no correlation, I know that.
It was just tests and reality checks, telling me to get my shit...

Last night I died in my dream
I had a dream last night that I died by gunshot to the neck. I felt the pain, and then was enveloped by bright white light. I thought I actually died, but then I woke up. I now feel very strange. Has this happened to anyone before?

Both husband and I dream about the same stranger
Hi all,
So I had a dream about a blond older woman who had a beehive bun and wearing a blue dress.
According to my dream, I knew she was evil and I kept thinking to myself that she was a witch.
I kept asking her what does she want but she didn’t respond. I don’t remember much else, but I remember that I was in danger and I just wanted her to go away.
That morning I woke up afraid. I told my husband about it and he told me he dreamed the same woman.
In his dream the woman broke into our house. She was standing in front of him while I was sleeping. The woman wanted to hurt me, but my husband pointed a shot gun to her face and said “do you want a slug to the face?” He said that she freaked out and left. He was happy that he was able to protect me.
Neither of us know who this woman is and we don’t think we’ve ever seen her in real life.
Any thoughts ?
