What are possible meanings for dreams of miscarriages?

Miscarriage is a common theme in the dreams of pregnant women, and it reflects their fears. Once in a while a dream will predict a miscarriage, but such a dream is much more likely to be based on fear or the symbolism of losing something important.

For example, a woman dreams that she’s carrying her ex-boyfriend’s baby and miscarries. The ex-boyfriend character confesses that he’s happy it happened because it frees him to do what he wants to with his life. Carrying his baby is a way of saying that the dreamer carried a piece of her ex with her after they broke up—you could say that he’s inside her—and the miscarriage symbolizes letting go of the relationship so she can move on. It has nothing to do with actually being pregnant.

Miscarriage can be used in the sense of “miscarriage of justice.” It means something wrong has happened, a tragedy. It can have similar symbolism as an abortion, meaning something that’s aborted, such as a project or idea. See: Abortions

The symbolism of a miscarriage can connect with related associations, such as a fetus, baby, or pregnancy. Use the entries listed below to explore further.

dream of dead fetus

hi sweet community, would love some feedback on the dream I had last night. I was swimming in my friends pool and at the bottom was a dead fetus that I swam over and touched with my feet. It freaked me out but I kept swimming

I didn’t wake up from the dream as a nightmare or anything, just remembered it this morning and now it’s freaking me out. I am currently trying to get pregnant and had a miscarriage earlier this year in February.

Thank you for any insight!

A dream that made me cry in real life.

Just to preface: I know this dream isn’t real. I know that what happened in real life isn’t my fault. My mother and I do not talk to each other because of her racism, homophobia, transphobia, and hateful rhetoric. My best friend in the entire world and I still talk and we don’t hate each other at all. I’m a grown ass adult living on my own. I haven’t lived with my parents for several years. I have been pretty independent in a new city and have been making a good living. Now onto the dream:

It starts off to where I’m back at my high school. This time the elementary school across the street was transformed into a hospital/shopping mall/bar. I was there to pick up a few things from my medicine that would keep me sane to a new set of clothes because I felt as though it would be easiest to grab. I park my car in the parking lot behind the building and I run in and grab something to eat.

As I’m sitting, my friend comes in and starts crying.

“What’s wrong?” I ask.

“I lost the baby… because you stressed me out!” Says my best friend.

I was confused at first. (In real life she had a miscarriage. In the dream she was pregnant.) I thought she was going to be okay. I thought the baby was going to live.

“It’s all your fault!” She kept screaming.

Everyone in the food court/café area kept staring at me. I started to walk out and grab all of my items because I don’t want to be stared at. I knew it wasn’t my fault, for some reason people were pointing at me saying it was my fault. So of course the frustration in the dream was making me cry.

As I walked away, I saw my mother, my sister, my aunt, and my cousin walking down the hallway with all of their bags in hand. I wave at them, but my mother ignores me. I think “What the fuck? Why aren’t you speaking to me?”

She then says “Nobody!” to me. I was thinking “why would she say that? I am somebody”. I look over to my sister and she’s crying. My aunt and cousin disappear into the car the four of them took.

“Take your stuff” my mother says to me.

“What stuff?” There was a large quilt that was made of old T-shirts in the back.

“I want my comforter, too!” She exclaims.

At this point, I was getting frustrated. She hasn’t bought me a comforter in years, let alone did any real shopping for me.

“I have three comforters,” I say, “Two I bought and one I got for my birthday.”

“No, the one I got for myself that you took!” She points at the t-shirt quilt again.

“I didn’t take anything from you and I don’t want that quilt!”

“Just take your stuff! Especially after what you did!” My mother shouts from her car.

“What the fuck did I do?!” I screamed.

My mother crashes her car into a truck in front of her. Without missing a beat she turns to me. “You hurt your best friend and you’re not taking responsibility for it!”

I started crying and screaming “It’s not my fault!” I stick my head in the window and tell her “You’re only saying this because I’m gay and you can’t handle that this is who I am! You can’t love me like a real parent.” I start crying.

“Get your stuff out of my life!” She says pulling away from the truck. Her car is immediately fixed like nothing has touched it.

So I’m crying and I get even more frustrated. (I haven’t cried in a dream since I was 14 and my childhood best friend came to me in a dream after she passed.) I’m pacing the parking lot trying to find my car. I reach down for my keys and start pressing the alarm button. Nothing happened. I just have bags full of my stuff I bought and stuff I’ve been moving to a new place. I finally found a truck. It was a white truck that was large on the inside. I pull on the handle to get in and another friend of mine was pulling it closed. She threw a t-shirt at me.

“You can’t come in until you talk to your friend!” So I’m crying even more because I can’t even drive home.

I then wake up. I’m wiping tears from my face and saying to myself it’s just a dream.

This just scares me that this shit happens to me.

Just to preface: I know this dream isn’t real. I know that what happened in real life isn’t my fault. My mother and I do not talk to each other because of her...

Dreamed of my partner before we met

I (29 F) have kept a dream journal since my senior year of high school, when it was a required project for my psychology project. I had a weird dream experience I wanted to share.
Last night, I had a dream that my current partner and I had welcomed a baby (we currently have no living children but suffered a miscarriage in 2017) and moved into a new home. We decided to have a dinner party to celebrate and invited all of our family and friends. I'm carrying the baby through these groups of people, greeting them and chatting while I look for my partner so I can hand off the baby and run to the restroom.
Finally I catch sight of my mom and explain the situation and her face just falls. She pulls me aside and explains that it's really unhealthy to pretend he's still here and I have this jarring memory of being in a car accident with him when I was pregnant.
I woke up with the niggling feeling I'd had the same dream before, and sure enough it cropped up a few times in 2015, the year before I met my partner. I have no idea what to think of all this but it seriously creeped me out!

I'm terrified I had a prophetic dream about my best friend miscarrying her IVF miracle. TW: Miscarriage

TW: Miscarriage..

My best friend has just become pregnant from IVF. She and her partner have been trying for a while and shes only a couple weeks pregnant.

I dreamt of her the night she told me the embryo had stuck. I dreamt she was crippled over on the floor crying and howling in pain over the loss of her pregnancy while wearing a wedding dress.

Her wedding anniversary is coming up and I'm so scared she will miscarry early on in this pregnancy. Could there be any other meaning to the dream?

Dream about miscarriage

Last night I had a horrible dream about having a miscarriage in a restroom. I was sitting on the toilet and I ended up giving birth to a baby that was dead. It was so vivid... the most vivid dream I have ever had. I can still remember some gruesome details of the child from the nightmare, but I won’t go into detail.
In the dream I was crying in the restroom, like crying so hard for what seemed like 2 hours (felt like actual real time).
I remember consciously thinking in my dream about what just happened and putting a lot of blame on myself. I remember even thinking how it could’ve happened that I was pregnant which is strange because I’ve never dreamt having actual thoughts and then waking up to recite what I was thinking.

I ended up waking up at like 4 a.m. out of pure fear actually crying, which would make sense because in my dream I was continuously crying.
I am not pregnant in real life, nor have I been thinking about getting pregnant anytime soon.

Anyone have thoughts or any analysis on this??? I tried googling up some ideas, but nothing really correlates.
