What are possible meanings for dreams of principals?

In simplest terms, a principal is an authority figure and can symbolize authority structures. School is generally the first authority structure that a child encounters outside the home, and it makes a lasting impression.

A principal is generally someone you see when caught misbehaving or breaking the rules; the principal is the person who dishes out consequences. Therefore, a principal can symbolize consequences of misbehavior, and the dream character represents a specific person you don’t want to encounter, or sums up in one image fear of getting caught or punished. This use of the symbolism is often shown through actions of running from, hiding from, or defying a principal.

If the principal in your dream is a familiar person from your life, consider associations based on what you know about the person and the time of life when the person was an active part of your life.

A principal can symbolize a strong authority—he or she is the highest authority in a school. See: Presidents

A principal can symbolize someone admired for leadership or concern for children.

A principal can symbolize the part of yourself that governs anything in life related to learning and academics.

A principal can be a reference to childhood and school days. See: Schools

Another definition of principal means “chief” or “central person,” and dreams can branch out from there to mean “chief concern” or “central idea.” It can refer to a principle, meaning “a fundamental truth.” Dreams play with words and create symbolism through comparison and substitution.

A dream about a weird school

So there was a school. It was huge. Everyone lived at the school, but my room at the school was identical to my room here at home. The day was Halloween. And for Halloween me and my friends were curious about the basement. The basement had an elevator that you needed a key card to go down. I think we thought something shady was going on down there. We followed the principal down to the elevator when she went on we just sat there waiting for her to come back up. When she did everyone ran including me except two. We all hid behind a curtain which had just been pulled across the hallway from nowhere. When she came out they choked her out and took the key card. I realized I could get in trouble and ran.

I went to the cafeteria. My friend asked me if my teacher had done my room yet. (It was a secret santa type thing where a mystery teacher would decorate you room and try to spook you for Halloween, no I don't know where I come up with this stuff.)

I went down to my room and it was... cleaned up. I was super weirded out. A bunch of stuff had been thrown out. I felt violated that they had gone through my stuff. Even my cupboards had things missing from them. There was a large paper mache dragon they had placed in the corner. Several of my painting had been re-arranged. When I got up close I noticed someone had drawn cartoon ghosts on top of my paintings. They were ruined. But I remember thinking yeah I guess that's kind of creepy. I don't really care about my paintings. I was surprised they would go to the trouble of moving all my paintings to one wall.

I was pretty worried about what they had found in my room while cleaning up. Even I don't know what's in here. But before I could find out I woke up.

The Flood

Last night I dreamed that a flood was coming. I did not recognise where it was but it seemed like a very developed coastal town. From what I remember, I was outside with my girlfriend and I somehow know the flood is coming. I decide to run to my house and pack some things to escape. My girlfriend and I are running through heavy winds when we see the entrance of our colony complex being swept by a 50ft tall jet of water that looked like it was being sprayed out of a celestial fire hose. Once the gigantic stream of water dies down, we enter the complex to get to my house, which feels like a cosy hut, except much fancier and modern. All along some of the things I keep thinking about saving from my hut is my watch. It is one of the most expensive things I own in real life and it was given to me by my father. Our relationship isn't exactly great so I don't know what this is supposed to mean.

After we pack our things, we get out of the hut, I'm not sure where we thought we were going. Adjacent to mine, I find another hut and looking through the window I see - my high school principal. He sits dressed in beachwear, at a table writing what I presume is a book or a letter. I say "hello sir" through the window and he turns and gives an unrecognizing yet warm smile that seems to say "I don't know who you are but I must have taught you at some point". He doesn't actually say a word though. I get the feeling he has decided to stay and go down with his ship.

I do not remember the rest of the dream until I am safe inside a building that looks to be some sort of cathedral as the space is huge. Except the flooring and walls look to be built of mud and terracotta and polished to be smooth. Here I am with my girlfriend for a while and we mess around until my friend arrives. I do not remember the details of his arrival but next thing I remember is sitting with my friend on the floor of a stage in the cathedral, framed by a giant ornate window. I can see that it is still bright out but overcast and slightly rainy. All three of us joke around for a while. My last memory is asking my girlfriend to go get something. She leaves after a clever quip that I fail to recall.

Weird details:

1. My girlfriend is African American although I am Indian, have never dated anyone who is not indian nor ever been abroad. I do not even know any African American women.
2. At the entrance of our colony complex there is a giant monument. It is 50ft tall and rectangular, with a brick pattern in various shades of the color cream. As I leave I note how the monolith is left partially destroyed from the jet of celestial flood water that it faced.

I have my theories as to what this dream could mean but I'm sure all of your perspectives will enlighten my theory further.

I unlocked the safe to a jackpot of clothing and jewelry

Does anyone know what this dream means? I think it just means I want new clothes but idk. I was back in high school (I’m in college now) and the principal announced that the local thrift store set up a safe in the school that was huge and full of clothing and jewelry. If someone found it we could spend the entire day and afternoon getting things from it, and everything was free. I immediately began my search for it. At first I found something that looked like a safe, which distracted the other students but I quickly realized that was not the safe. I went to a drugstore that was at the entrance of the school and near the doors I found the locks to the safe. I was opening them with ease and called my best friend in the school to tell her “come near the entrance of the drug store right now. I found the safe.”

I was going through this dream with the understanding that the people in my school were dishonest bullies who would constantly steal, so it made sense that I was trying to keep this a secret. I got the safe opened and my friend came in quickly. I took bins and started to get as many clothes and jewelry as I could, but the other people in my school walked in. At one point I got in a fight with someone because they tried to steal one of my bins, but for the most part I was able to keep everything safe.

It began to get dark outside and a woman led the small group of students still getting clothes still getting clothes, and she revealed to us a designer clothing store. This store had a lot of clothes that I liked, which were all really high quality, and I got excited. I ended up gathering a bunch of wigs and clothes. My dream ended there.

can someone tell me what this dream means?

the other night i had a dream that we were in my eighth grade social studies class. there was a boy named jackie, who sat next to me. he was tall, black, had a sort of box haircut, and was very popular and well liked. i didnt know him all that well, but we werent srangers. i never really payed attention to him. anyway, we were presenting an assignment where we had different objects in a bag and we told a story with the objects. our principal was in the room recording all our projects so he could post the best one. our teacher called on jackie to go next. he goes up to the front of the room and says, "my story is about the... wait a minute i think i left something in my desk." he goes back to his desk, PULLS OUT A GUN, goes back to the front of the room, points the gun at his temple, and pulls the trigger. everyone in our class was screaming. i vividly remember seeing his body on the ground covered in blood, with parts of him on the teacher's desk. the video of jackie's project got leaked and someone posted it to some hotline website.

i don't know anyone named jackie, and his face doesnt look familiar at all. i really wanna know who "jackie" is supposed to be, but im lost. can someone please tell me what this dream means?

I have a recurring dream about my old school

Basically I commonly dream that i am at school with all my friends and there are two stairwells, one that is normal and one that seems to go up to 9 floors, the first four make sense and there are doors to classrooms and such but then there are many warning plastered about how you will basically be able to be expelled for going any further up the stairwell, so naturally the dream is about trying to go up the stairwell. When you climb up everything is just bland, no doors, no graffiti, no wear and tear, no dust and cobwebs, not even a window outside (worth noting at this point the school in real life is only 3 storeys so idk how symbolic it being four storeys in the dream with these added weird floors is) eventually it starts getting darker, not so dark you cant see anything but dark enough to give off that creepy “maybe some of us are gonna turn around you guys go ahead” vibe, then you reach the ninth floor, and there is a huge landing at the top, a little bigger than the normal ones (they were pretty big irl, i think so students could shove off to the side when people funnel through the doors) and still nothing at the top, except for a small red button on your right when you reach the top, now of course being the badass i am... i never click the button and someone else walks forward to push it, and then literally all that effort equates to random classic songs like take on me or somebody that i used to know playing over the PA throughout the entire school. Then the dream usually ends with a teacher/principal storming up (way faster than should be possible btw, like he was following behind by like 2 storeys) and telling us off, never giving a reason why this place is there or why we cant go up there and then bringing us back down to the fourth floor to go on our way.

What the hell does it mean?!
