What are possible meanings for dreams of teacher?

For students, dreams featuring their teachers and professors are common and usually connect with their classes and education, or relationship dynamics with the educators.

Dreams love to create comparisons and trace problems to their source. For example, a student has difficulty with a demanding teacher. Everything the teacher says, he does the opposite, and he’s openly hostile to her. He’s fine with the class and the subject of it, but doesn’t understand his reaction to the teacher till he dreams that his mother teaches the class … his demanding mother that he’s too scared of to openly defy. Instead, he acts out his feelings with his teacher.

When you dream about a teacher or professor from your past, the dream can connect with something you learned from that person. For example, you dream about your former English professor when you’re struggling with the wording of a report you’re writing for work. Or you had a teacher who told you that your innate talent and intelligence would carry you only so far in life, and that eventually you would need to prepare better and be consistent. Years later you realize you have hit a wall and need to prepare better and be more consistent. Voila! The teacher appears in your dreams. Oftentimes, the meaning of the symbolism pops to mind when thinking of your initial associations with the person and the subject they teach.

Teachers help you live up to your potential. They advise. They guide. They give answers, and you can dream about teachers whenever you need them. See: Guiding

A teacher in a dream can symbolize a mentor, counselor, friend, parent—anyone who teaches in any sense.

You can dream about a teacher in connection with a specific incident and the impression it makes on you. For example, say that one time you were late to class and the teacher wouldn’t let you into the classroom. It’s a harsh lesson about being on time. Then the other day you were late to an appointment, triggering a dream featuring the teacher represented as a character, and you wonder why you’d dream about someone you haven’t seen in years. It’s because the past connects with the present.

Dreaming about a group of teachers can symbolize your perceptions of them as a group. See: Groups

A teacher in a dream can be a representation of your attitudes toward learning. For example, a dream about being chosen for a special program to develop psychic powers, then sneaking out of the classroom, leaving the teacher to be beaten to death while the dreamer is doing his own thing, summarizes the dreamer’s overall attitude toward being taught. He has plenty of innate ability, but his stubborn insistence of doing things his own way holds him back. The death of the teacher dramatizes his inability to live up to his potential.

You can dream about teachers as completely imaginary characters that play teacher-related roles. The symbolism is based on common associations with teachers, and with teaching and learning. Teachers and professors are known for being well-educated, sometimes pompous, sometimes challenging, and sometimes lecturing. For example, you dream about enduring a teacher’s seemingly endless lecture the night after sitting through a seemingly endless meeting.

Dreams use associations with teaching, such as inspiration, authority figure, and someone you can or can’t count on. It depends on how the teacher is presented in the dream and your feelings and associations. The possibilities deepen when the teacher is someone you know, your teacher or former teacher. The symbolism can connect with the person, the subject he or she teaches, the school he or she teaches at, your experience with the teacher, the time of life you knew the person, and the person’s role as a teacher. For ideas about how to decode the symbolism of someone you know, see: Sister.

Along this line, a big part of a teacher’s job is to prepare students for the challenges they will face. You dream about a teacher from your past (a real-life person) when you face a challenge that the teacher warned you about or prepared you (or didn’t prepare you adequately) for.

A young man four years out of high school dreams he’s back there, in a classroom led by a teacher he doesn’t recognize as one he used to have. The class is given an assignment to work on. It confuses him and he asks for help and still doesn’t understand. His peers tell him he isn’t going to graduate, enraging him. He hurls desks across the room, then storms out and hunts down the school counselor, who is out of the office.

The dream symbolizes the young man’s struggle to figure out where he fits in the adult world; specifically, what he should be doing as an occupation. That’s his assignment, and his confusion about the assignment reflects his overall confusion about what to do with his life. His rage in the dream is an amplification of his feelings—he’s really upset with himself and the teachers and counselors who haven’t given him the answers he needs. It’s why he reacts with rage—he subconsciously knows that failing to graduate means he won’t have the adult life he wants. By understanding the dream he is able to grasp the situation and make a decision. He joins the Navy. Six months later he’s happier than he’s ever been.

And it all begins with the teacher, because ultimately the dream is about understanding his situation. That’s his assignment. The question is about his life, and the answer is to find a way to “graduate.”

A teacher can symbolize teaching what you know. For example, as a parent you want to teach your children what they need to know to grow up to be healthy adults.

Teaching in dreams can apply to situations where you want to get across your ideas and knowledge, as teachers do. For example, a man dreams about being a professor teaching a classroom of students about a subject in which he’s an expert. The dream reflects his efforts to assume the role of teacher by giving public presentations.

The symbolism of a teacher can connect with the settings in which teachers are found. See below.

Had a dream I was shot by Russians. What does this mean?

Ok so in the dream I was asleep and I was awakened by a horrible feeling in my stomach. For some reason I brushed it off, even after noticing blood. It wasn't until later that I realized the people I was with had shot me. At that moment I was in a restaurant looking place but it was actually a school cafeteria and made entirely of wood. At that moment the intercom activated and started saying something but the students were too loud so the teachers quieted them down. The intercom was simply speaking gibberish in a monotone female voice. But it was getting faster. For some reason, there, I had a panic attack while everyone was just wondering what was wrong with me for panicking.

What the heck does this mean?

Can’t go back so sleep. Clearest dream I’ve ever had. Please read

I just woke up from a dream. Just spooked out to be honest.

The dream started out with me and my family in a different home, we were watching tv. I went to school, but only my spanish class. Our teacher was mentioning the whole planet will be having a heart attack for two reasons: to have your consciousness go to a parallel universe. And two, if you survive, somehow you will adapt... idk. So I died, and my dream self had thoughts too, because I heard “myself” ask why there wasn’t pain. I woke up in the dream In a really nice house. I was with my mom and sister and it was the morning. My mom told me to start getting ready so I did. I checked if there was anything different in this “parallel universe” (physically) and it was just my teeth (idk.) I showered, FaceTimed my friends, and then changed in my room. I went downstairs and talked to my family, I even mentioned to my sister that it was her time to walk the dog (the clock showed 5:54 or 6:5... not sure.) I went back upstairs to my room and I turned on a Xbox and ps4... idk why. I noticed I had this small tv I used to have as a kid and I wondered why I still had this same tv.

I then heard a knock, I ran downstairs, but all the lights were off. The flight of stairs was endless and I just kept going down. Eventually I woke up In my own bed and I felt something start pulling on my blanket, I let go and then I just heard a bunch of clown horns, like from a little tricycle or something. I cried for help, I even thought someone heard me. I then felt something watching me, I felt some kind of pressure on my chest as if something was right on top of me. I woke up in my real dream, I still thought I didn’t have a blanket. Still spooked out.

This was my clearest dream yet. There are some minor details I let out but I really thought that I was gonna die... or something. Sorry

I had a dream that lasted 27 years

Well my dream didn’t PHYSICALLY last 27 years. I was only asleep for 5 hours. But days went by feeling like actual days, years went by feeling like years. It started off at home, I was in a rush to go to school but when I got there this jerk kid was pissing everyone off. Now calm down when I say this because it was only s dream and I don’t know what if into me but for some reason I killed the kid. Obviously I was caught because I did it in front of everyone and for about a month i was stuck in jail. I got some weird therapy but they found out I had no reason but the fact that he was being rude to everyone, my best friends Sydney who was the biggest witness tried to defend me in court but knew mentally that their was no getting me out of the inevitable. I was sentenced to capital punishment by electrocution where I was taken to death row. I received some letters and asked some people to send me photos to put up. Days lasted only 12 hours but they definitely felt like full hours. About 2 years in I had excepted the fact of death and started asking what my date would be. Eventually they told me it was 27 years and it was sometime in June. I got notes from my friends my friends and even one from my class, though the one from my class said they all hated me. But all the drama took place on the day of the execution. The handcuffed me and gave me my last meal that I can’t remember. Then when I got to the death chamber and strapped into the electric chair I saw my bff Sydney playing games with popcorn. My teacher writing something. My other BFF Emily watching. Sydney’s dog whimpering and pawing at the window, a few town people and 3 reporters. My last words were “peace out fam” because I was basically brain dead and couldn’t think of anything. The first shock was so crazy. I could feel the pain so clearly as if it wasn’t a dream at all, it was so excruciatingly painful and it took them 3 attempts before I died, then it all went black and I heard 3 knocks followed by “Carys?” I thought I was dead but nope it was my mom waking me up to go to school. I’m still in shock, get it, shock.

I was summoned to court for sexual assault because of my bad grammar

I’ve (23M) had this dream twice now and it’s getting on my nerves. In my dream, I had just finished an abnormal psychology class. I was checking my grade (which was an A), when I noticed a notification from my teacher that said there was an urgent problem with my grade that came up. I did some more investigation and found that there was suspicion that I was guilty of sexual assault and scheduled to meet in court in my college town 7 hours away this week.

Obviously, I was shocked and horrified and racked my brain trying to figure out how this came to be. The only lead I had is that for this psych class, I had presented a power point about rapists and their motivations - pretty dark stuff. As part of the presentation I included an interview of an imprisoned rapist and wrote out a quote by him admitting his crime.

So I looked through my PowerPoint and finally had an aha moment. It turned out that I had forgotten to add the quotation marks outside the prisoner’s monologue. This made it look like I was speaking from my own personal experience and admitting I had raped someone. My teacher had flagged my presentation and reported it to authorities, and now I had to look like a fucking idiot in court explaining to judge how I falsely confessed a crime as serious as rape in such a stupid way. And then I spent the rest of the dream stressing out about finding my court notice because I forgot the time and date, getting a ride back, getting s lawyer, and paying for it all.

There were points when I debated if it was all dream, even in my first few minutes of wakefulness, because even though lots of details were different (I never even took abnormal psych), the dream was remarkably coherent and occurred in real time. Sure hope these stop, seeing your entire life fall apart for a half hour or so because of a stupid grammatical mistake is not much fun.

Tl;dr: class presentation an interview of an incarcerated rapist, forgot to put quotation marks around the rapist’s monologue, proteacherought I was confessing a rape myself and turned me in to the police, now I have to pack up my life and appear in court.

Saw a dream of killing someone, is it normal?

Ok, so i saw a dream where me and my older sister we're walking on a street after going to the shop. A car stopped next to us and tried to kidnap both of us, there were people behind us and they all came to help and luckily nothing happened to us and he got away. Let's pause for a minute, the guy resembled a lot of people from my real life (bullies, annoyingasfuck teachers etc) so it's not like the guy had a "face". This is where a dream kind of splits you know? Something happens, you don't know what happened in the middle of it but the dream has a "jump-cut", i hope you know what i mean. So i was in a mountain-y area and saw the same car coming towards me and i started like fighting him or something?? So eventually it got to the point where i had to eliminate the guy or i wouldn't survive, but, i can't just kill someone? So i... buried him in a brick-wall kind of thing that was made out of stone. Because of dream logic, he kind of just WENT into the wall and i'm pretty sure he was alive at that point but suffocated in the wall. Later i went to check the place to get rid of the car, blood and saw that the place that i "burief" him onto had some red on the stones. That's when i basically knew "well fuck i hope no-one notices that" and i just... woke up. Is it normal? Am i a psychopath? What is going on.

Ok, so i saw a dream where me and my older sister we're walking on a street after going to the shop. A car stopped next to us and tried to kidnap both of us,...
