What are possible meanings for dreams of apartments?

Dreaming about living in an apartment when you don’t really live in one can symbolize being in a temporary place in your life, or in a transition phase. Apartments are commonly associated with temporary dwellings, so think along the lines of anything that’s temporary.

The idea applies quite often to relationships, especially romantic ones. If you dream about living in an apartment with someone you’re dating, but you don’t actually live together or live in an apartment, you know right away it’s symbolism. It’s likely to be a way of saying your relationship is in transition, or you know deep inside that the relationship is temporary.

For example, a man who lives with his girlfriend dreams that they decide they should move out of their apartment. They actually live together in a house, a discrepancy with reality that stands out as symbolism. He walks into a scene where their roommates (completely fictional characters, another discrepancy with reality) lounge around as she packs their stuff and cleans. Seeing this, he kicks into gear and helps pack, thinking to himself that it’s a good idea for the two of them to move on. The dream reflects his thoughts about moving to the next phase of their relationship. He has lived the bachelor life, symbolized as the roommates, long enough. Moving out of the apartment in the dream means transitioning to a new way of thinking about the relationship as permanent. It’s something he senses his girlfriend is ready for, symbolized as her taking the initiative to pack.

The idea of being in transition applies to yourself, too. People going through personal or life changes are known to dream more frequently about living in an apartment. It’s a way of saying “between places in life.”

An apartment can symbolize being apart from someone. It can reflect being apart figuratively, such as when opinions differ or emotional connection is lacking.

An apartment can mean “a part of,” as in getting good grades in school is a part of getting into a good college, and a good college is a part of what leads to getting good work afterward.

Apartments can symbolize difficulty controlling your living space. Apartments are known for being close to neighbors, and neighbors are a variable that’s difficult to control.

The symbolism of apartments can connect with the association that people live in them when they have limited personal and financial resources. Of course, living in an apartment can be driven by convenience and choice, too.

When you dream about an apartment where you used to live, it can refer to that time of your life. Something started back then that continues today or is relevant to it. For example, a man has recurring dreams about living in his college apartment, a way of saying that years later he still lives like a college student.

Stuck at the airport

I also had this dream last week. F/40s

Dream I am going to America for a holiday. I have only packed my duffle bag and only a handful of items.
I'm at the airport. I arrive very early. A lot of the dream is set in a big airport lounge. I really enjoy wandering around feeling like I am alone and enjoying it and looking forward to the trip.

As I go down the escalator, a volunteer old man wants to look at my ticket for ages and explain stuff to me I am impatient and barely hold back from rolling my eyes.

Now I have my two sons with me.
They have also each packed a bag. But I haven't checked them so I think they will have forgotten things.

I'm really early, but it's not until I am about to depart that I realise I don't really have enough stuff.
Luckily I have my US dollars packed- a stack of it. I think maybe I'll be able to buy what I need when I get there.
I see an empty hidden compartment in my handbag and think that would be to hold a passport. [It didn't occur to me in my dream that there is no passport in there, but when I woke up I thought this was an interesting detail.]
I realise this will be more of a family trip, no chance of a getaway alone.

An older woman and young boy asks me if they can leave the airport to visit the Great Sandy Hills.
I say, 'No there is a 6 ft fence, you can't leave the airport area.' They are disappointed, they had hoped to see some sights while they were here. But really they are just in transit, they shouldn't expect to be able to get out. I think, 'how stupid they are to think they'll be let out, how ridiculous!'

I watch a tv news clip of covid lockdown about new rules about extreme punishment if someone accidentally infects someone because they go out. The footage shows someone locked into their completely sealed off apartment basically and workers are pumping air through tiny pipes in the window; definitely not enough air. I say, 's*** just got real' and am saddened at their loss of freedoms.

Overall feeling of sadness.

I dreamed about killing and slicing someone limb from limb

Hello guys can someone here can translate a dream? Coz I had a weird dream just right now.
My dream was about my girlfriend telling me that someone that I know harassed her months ago. And I was so mad that she didn't told me this right after the guy did this. After knowing that, I brought a knife and went to the guy's location and kill him. I cut his body parts limb from limb and I was so satisfied on what I'm doing. Im not even scared or anything it's so weird. After killing him, I just leave his body and remove my fingerprints on that particular house. After doing that I realize that the house where I killed him was the apartment that my family we're living 2 years ago and I was shocked when I saw my dad there looking at the window and staring at the body I killed. He's not mad and has no reaction. Also I remember that I wasn't really planning to kill the guy, I just want to cut his arms. When I did cut his arm, I think about that I might go to jail if he survives and tell everyone who did this to him so I just chopped his body. that's when I woke up. Please can someone translate it? I'm so anxious about this and I really have a bad feeling like I'm so nervous when I woke up

Dream about almost getting murdered

So i remember that in the dream i was going for vacation with my mom (my mom has been dead for 2 years) and i was happy. So we got there via a car i think. and it was this wiggly street with flat houses flying around it and there was a motel where my mom said I am going to stay so i went in and it was my apartment. It was all cool there was this girl and a guy. I don't remember their names. They were 20 something and chill. We went out for normal vacation stuff, but i don't remember any of it. We came back to the "motel" and i open my wardrobe and there is a hand sticking out of it. I thought it was a prank. They were smiling. I touched it. It felt soooo real. It felt like a real hand. Like my hand. The same texture and look. And i acctually felt it when i touched it. I pull it out and i look at the end of it. It was a real hand and it look like it was ripped out from somebody, but it didn't look that bad. I was scared i looked at them. they were laughing and she started pulling out a knife while he was trying to grab me. I hit him with the hand i was holding and kicked her in the face and i felt like i broke my leg when it wasn't, but i kept fighting them. I ran out of there and there was this giant who pushed me back inside to them and i had to fight them again and i woke up while beating the shit out of the guy. Weird

Vivid false awakening dream

I just woke up from a nap and had a pretty textbook spooky false awakening dream:

I get out of bed and notice all the lights are out in my apartment, and since I started the nap, it had gotten dark out. There were lights on when I started the nap, so I assume the power’s out and start checking switches to confirm it. Outside my bedroom door I see a weird, barely visible vapor and I get scared for a second, but tell myself it's just floaters in my dark-adjusted eyes and it vanishes. I ask myself if I’m really awake, and move around and knock on the walls and decide that I definitely am awake, because everything worked as it should. I leave my room and see that the light over the stove, the one i keep on all night, is still on and decide that that means that one light is on a different grid than the rest of the lights in my building (?).

I open my front door and the entire neighborhood’s lights are out - very spooky, I’d never seen it like that. No one is anywhere in sight, except for a woman in a long white dress, like a nightgown, leaning against a pole, maybe a hundred fifty feet from my door. She turns her head and sees me. I get scared and shut my door, which is now made of glass. Then I woke up.

It sounds almost cliche, but that’s what happened. Have at it.

Met my soulmate in a dream

About a week ago, I had a dream in which I was hanging out with this guy who brought me to his family’s multiplex apartment in a city. For some reason, i felt like I was in Houston; something was telling me I was in Houston. And it’s not like I saw a sign that indicated the name of the city, I just had a feeling I was there. I’ve also never been to Texas (let alone houston) before anyway. He brought me to the top floor of the building/apartment and introduced me to his sister. I knew right away when I looked at her that she was my soulmate. Their parents where there too. The mother had the ability to transport people into other dimensions. Nothing was guaranteed for this experience. No conditions at all. When we were all sent off, my soulmate and I both traveled to the same place together and lived there for 6 months. In this place we also weren’t human. Within the time we were there, we started a huge family of beings that were self sufficient. We didn’t need to take care of them up until a certain point, although they were sad to see us go! When we left, we returned back to earth, in the apartment where we were sent off. when we returned, there were more people there than when we left. Not a lot of time passed on earth. When we got back, I remember thinking to myself to “remember the energy you feel between each other. The eyes will give it away”. Then I woke up.

I only have a general idea of what she looks like. I don’t really remember her face that well, but I do remember her eyes, hair, height, and body shape.

Now, here’s the freaky part.

I’ve met a girl over a year ago. We have always felt comfortable around each other and we’re always happy to see each other. Plus, I can tell we’re attracted to each other. Even though we don’t see each other often, or even spend much time together, her energy resonates with me very strongly. The other day, she posted a picture of her eyes saying “it’s all in the eyes, always in the eyes.” She also happens to have the same body shape, hair, and eye features of my soulmate in my dream.
