What are possible meanings for dreams of brothers?

To see your brother in a dream can connect with some aspect of your relationship with him. This is more likely to be the case if you have had recent contact, or he’s been on your mind. It’s possible that you’re observing something about him.

Since most dream characters represent something about you, your brother can represent something you see in yourself that you also see in him. For example, if you are impatient and so is he, in your dream he might represent your impatience. If you two quarrel, he can represent your quarrelsome side, or act as a reminder of a recent quarrel with someone else. Or something about him is used as symbolism. For example, he has children and you have been talking about it with your spouse, so in your dream he’s used to symbolize the idea of starting a family.

A surrogate can be used to represent your brother. Dreams use surrogates to create personal distance from the subject matter and avoid being obvious. For instance, after an argument with a brother a dream might use a surrogate to represent him. The surrogate could be any male character, but usually there’s some way of connecting the surrogate with the actual person.

The surrogate could be a male relative, friend, co-worker, or someone from the same occupation or school. You can tell by the emotions and feelings the character sparks in you, similarity in behavior and appearance, and how you react. For example, your brother is deployed in the military, and you dream about seeing a seemingly random soldier and running up to hug him and welcome him home. You react that way because you subconsciously know who the soldier represents.

If you don’t have a brother and dream you do, the character can represent something about yourself you’re not aware of or don’t recognize. Something that isn’t accepted about you, or that you don’t accept about yourself.

For example, a young man dreams that he has a long-lost brother visiting from a psychiatric hospital, and he’s put in charge of showing him around. The brother acts a little slow and quirky but he’s actually pretty cool in the dreamer’s eyes, and he’s happy to take his bro to a party and introduce him to friends.

The brother symbolizes the dreamer’s slowness and quirkiness, which cause him to be labeled as a head case, symbolized by the detail about the psychiatric hospital. It’s something the dreamer doesn’t like about himself, so it’s depicted at a distance, as a long-lost brother.

If the dream said, “the brother is really you,” he might react differently and not so readily accept the brother character. But instead, by creating personal distance, the dreamer is given the opportunity to react from his true feelings. And it shows that he can accept and like himself the way he is.

For another example, see: Kanye West.

A younger brother in a dream can refer to an immature aspect of oneself, or something that comes second, such as time for sex coming second to caring for the kids, or a house rule that games can’t be played until after homework is done. Your dreams can pull in references from anywhere to create symbolism. They don’t care how far they have to reach.

An older brother can symbolize a mature aspect of oneself, or the desire for a wise counselor. It might symbolize something that protects you, such as how sarcasm can protect you from getting close with people.

An arm or branch of a tree can symbolize a brother. See: Arms, Trees

A brother can be something related to you in the broader sense, such as how people perceive you in terms of your occupation. Your occupation is connected with you, but is not necessarily who you really are.

A brother is a close male friend or buddy, someone who stands at your side, especially in times of need. In a dream, a brother can connect with the need or desire for a close companion, or someone to lend you an ear.

A brother can be a spiritual brother.

A “bro” is a jock/frat-guy type who comes on too strong but isn’t smart enough to know better.

Most of what’s written in the entry for Sister also applies to a brother character in a dream. Go check it out.

An eye that makes you invisible

Background: I live in Iran; reputation and shame strongly influence this culture. I’m 25 yo, female. I always date younger guys (21-22). Recently, after about 8 months of not dating, I started dating another 22-year-old. Also, I have social anxiety.

What I remember from the dream:

In the first act, there’s a building. Its top floor is a luxury hotel; it has an air of lust to it and it seems to be host to frequent sex parties. I see an Indian middle-aged women, having sex with two young guys.

I don’t remember the second act. I know it involves my family (including my sister and brother) and it seems like something has happened that has endangered the reputation of the family and we are trying to fix it.

In the third act, a magical battle is going on. Our side has acquired something from the other side; an eye, that when worn, will make the wearer invisible, and they can do whatever they want. There is a black man on our side that is given the responsibility of using the eye. He goes around dealing with some enemies, killing them or knocking them down. My brother is also helping in the battle. The scene is in my grandparents (mother’s side) house. Meanwhile, I’m doing something, maybe hiding something in the hotel. (I don’t remember)

However, when we think we have won, Mad Eye Moody from harry potter appears. And we realize The Eye hasn’t been working, and whatever the black guy has done have had no effect. All enemies are still alive, and also, they’ve seen everything.

Mad eye moody chases the black guy. At this point, his point of view becomes mine. He feels weak and defeated. Then, when mad eye moody is near, the black guy decides to destroy the eye. He cuts into it with a scissor. Inside the eye, it’s black and made of foam.

The scene cuts to the middle-aged Indian woman. She is in a red-purple lively casino or club, and she is picking up two young men.

I would appreciate your interpretation!

I dreamt what happens after I died

This has never happened to me before and its kind of freaking me out. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this before because nobody in my circles that I asked ever had.

This is the dream:

This was a few nights ago and im still fucked about it.

I was at my childhood home, my parents were really old and frail (75/80’s, they’re actually in their 40’s irl) I felt like i was 24/25 (Im 19). The tv was on and I was cleaning not paying attention when the tv had a really loud alarm. The news guy said that america has fallen and showed huge street fights with fire everywhere and people getting shot and falling by the hundreds. The same dude came back on with another alert and said that the outsider countries that were waiting to attack have just declared war too. The phone rang and I watched my younger brother (18) answer it and hang up. I couldn’t hear him or anything else. He didnt say anything but him and my other brother (17) went upstairs, got a bag and left the house. I knew they got drafted to fight and I knew they didnt say anything bc they weren’t going to come back. My dad got up and hobbled to the door and said he had to protect the family, but I knew he didn’t want to go. He was doing it out of duty, and everyone knew he was too old he would die for certain. My mom was crying and so was my little sister (9) and so was I. Then there was another emergency alarm on the tv to immediately get underground and put something between your teeth and bite down, North Korea was coming. I got my family to go the basement and I was coming behind them, still upstairs when I looked out the window and saw a blinding white light growing and I knew I was going to die right then and I had this huge feeling that I had let it get to that point. It was MY fault that it did.
The light became everything and then it became all dark and my eyes adjusted to see that I was in a moving hallway of sorts. It in space, made out of space, and I could see outside of the area but I was confined to the inside. It was like a black space snake and I was inside riding it like a train. Some of the space scales of the snake worked as doors and I could go into points of time in the future/past, of my life which was a tiny section of it overall and in general too. I looked inside one room but I didn’t go in. It was just trees in a swamp. I opened this other door that had a vibe™️ to it and instantly I was met with this warm yellow glowing light that filled the entire room (which had no walls, it was just the light) and it had the MOST loving feeling ever. It felt like the ultimate motherly warm love ever and I could just melt into it and be happy and safe forever and I was about to step in when the light shifted and formed the face of a lady. The lady opened her eyes and looked directly dead in my eyes and without opening her mouth or anything she said loud and clear: Speak. The sound was in my body and everywhere at the same time.

And then I woke up. And I remained fucked up because I’ve never died in a dream and continued dreaming ever before.

Also my interpretation of the dream was: i have to speak on what ive been meaning and KNOW i need to speak on in order to not let bad things happen. Im trying to write a book and Ive been too scared to start.

This has never happened to me before and its kind of freaking me out. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this before because nobody in my circles that...

Looking for opinions and thoughts on this Nightmare.

So, I'll describe the dream with the brief details and little narrative that I remember. No matter how strange

So I remember being in some kind of large house which was an orphanage? Or something of the sort, for some reason that old cartoon, fosters home for imaginary friends comes to mind.
I remember a lot of random children being there, I didn't recognise any of them.
I was an authority in this house, as I remember helping some of the kids and they were asking me things etc etc. (only mundane everyday things).
Anyways, a bit 'later' two little girls were starting to complain about a boy, he was a bit older than the both of them. He was abusing them and being really nasty to them.
When I went to confront him I remember catching him trying to bite the arm of the little girl(I'm not sure if he actually managed to take a chunk or not). His mouth was opened extremely wide like a snakes. At which point the dream quickly devolved into a nightmare, I chased off this little boy, but he was suddenly some kind of monster(demon?).

I chased it out of the house that I don't recall the layout of into the back garden which I immediately recognised as my fathers garden. At which point my brother appeared in the upstairs window shouting ''You have to get the 'Gremlin' out!''.

As I was approaching this monster, the little boys face and form were in a constant state of shift. Had black eyes and a cavernous black mouth. Eventually turning into some sort of dog. As I got closer the monster dog was trying to escape, I remember using some sort of superhuman strength to knock something over to block it's path at which point it lunged at me. That's when I woke up.

I was super creeped out for a while after waking up but, I'm not sure what to make of it!
The details I remember most are the black eyes and mouth/weird face on the monster.

Any opinions are welcome!

I referenced an old dream inside of my dream last night.

Has anyone ever done this? It was a dream I had a long time ago about trying to run from the cops and almost getting away. Well the guy I did this with, was in my dream last night. I was talking to him in a car as we were going somewhere with a group of people, I said "bro do you remember that time we almost got away from the cops?" And he responded with "yeah that was crazy".

Sometimes I swear dream world is just an alternate reality lol.
