What are possible meanings for dreams of talismans?

A talisman or amulet in a dream can be a protective symbol, and if that’s the meaning behind the symbolism, then it will make you feel safe. It can show that you have the inner strength and integrity to withstand the pressures of life and achieve your potential as a person.

It can symbolize a potential source of strength or insight. It’s a good sign, usually, and can indicate that you are at a particularly important moment in your life, such as at a crossroads or facing big decisions.

For example, while struggling in a blizzard in a dream, the dreamer finds and picks up a talisman in the snow. The snow symbolizes depression, and the talisman is a sign that the dreamer has the strength to get out of it.

The talisman is also a symbol loaded with energy in the psyche. By picking up the talisman the dreamer is accessing it, or claiming it, making it conscious—she is going to need it to battle the depression. Until that happens the energy is only potential locked away behind the symbol, and willingness to claim it is the key. In the next scene, the dreamer finds a white horse, and in time she learns to ride it and escape her depression.

Carl Jung said that these symbols can appear as the psyche individuates, and within them is everything needed to help the process along. Sketch the talisman. Research it. Wear it as a necklace or ring, or get it tattooed. Make it part of you.

Amulets are known to ward off bad energy, and that can connect with warding off negative people and situations, or dealing with negativity and darkness in yourself. Your dreams will translate these ideas into scenarios such as using an amulet to ward off a pack of wolves, or to teleport away.

Amulets protect from invisible forces, and that association can symbolize recognition of pernicious influences or unconscious aspects of oneself, two examples of things that are intangible (invisible) but real and influential. This use of the symbolism in dreams is often accompanied by themes of magic and sorcery.

The shape and composition of an amulet can be significant. For example, an amulet shaped like a triangle can symbolize willpower, energy, or transcendence. An amulet shaped like a circle can symbolize wholeness or completeness of the psyche. An amulet made of precious metals and gems can symbolize something precious to the dreamer. See: Circles, Gems, Jewelry, Pyramids

The unconscious mind can, in one image, say a thousand words. An entire idea or set of ideas is summed up in the amulet symbol.

I just had a transcendent experience through a dream.

I'll just write down the transcendent experience, not the entire dream since it was very long.

In my dream me, my family and an odd assortment of friends were in my grandfather's house. We hired an historian to track down the family history and came out with an extraordinary discovery. We discovered that the documents that the historian gathered worked as some sort of talisman to summon a series of entities, ghosts if you will.

The last ghost was the one who caused/showed me the transcendent experience. It was so vivid that I'm still shaking with what he showed me.

I have a deaf nephew, and this ghost was a futuristic version of him. My nephew's name is Vincent, and this ghost said he was Vincent II, he looked very similar to my real nephew but much older, maybe 5 or 6 years older. He said something like he wanted to reassure my faith in the future.

When these ghosts manifested, they selected some people of the group and call them to a room where they show or tell us something.

Vincent II called me and my cousin. He was wearing a pair of goggles, and when he stood in front of me he took them off and said "hello, Christian" in the same way my nephew greets me.

Once in the room he said that he could show us something of what is to come. But we have to decide whether we go or not. My cousin said no, because he knew that the otherworldly travel sometimes takes several days and he was afraid of how long it might take. I said that I had to go, because I will never have that opportunity again.

We got up on his ship and Vincent II told me to look to a round screen, that I thought it was a window at first. And I could see some semi transparent spheres, Vincent II told me that those were all the possible futures or realities. Long story short, they were other times and other universes. He said he will show me a couple things from them. The first thing was a place, my family ranch, but looked different, there were other houses and the road had been paved. The transcendent part was the details and vividness of it all, it almost seemed like I was seeing something real. The smell, the touch, the colors of everything was so overwhelming and so real. I know it's crazy but seemed like a real glimpse into other reality or the future.

The other thing he showed me was a trailer of a streaming service, I'm not going to say from what company, but the service name was "HUGE". I saw a lot of known cartoons and series and some that I don't know. And again the vividness of it all was incredible, I still can clearly remember the voice of the narrator, the shows I knew and those that I didn't know.

When the trailer finished, Vincent II told me that I was dreaming and that he decided to show me all those things in my dream because I would be more receptive. He put me back in my grandfather's house and said that when he leaves, I'd wake up. And he waved me goodbye and I woke up.

I'm still a bit shaky. I have never had a dream like this before. I mean in my entire life.

Thank you for those who took the time to read. I want to write all the details of what I saw before I forget.

I'll just write down the transcendent experience, not the entire dream since it was very long.

I had this strange dream, what do you guys think?

I had this strange dream last night but only remember so much of it.

I was in an unfamiliar room, connected to another room with a doorway but no door, and a door leading outside from that other room.

I made these six amulets. Im not sure what they were for but it felt like something to do with warding off death. I made one for my brother but he died 15 years ago, so i hung it up in the first room on a golden screw. This one stood out the most to me.

Idk what these amulets or talismans were exactly. I think either to ward off death or protect the soul. One of them, golden and brass-like, felt divine and special. The one for my brother was a black blue, shaped a bit like an owl head and a heart combined, with intricate carved lines in it.

I collected the other five and I think I was meant to deliver them to certain people but its people i never heard of or knew.

I put them in a special bag and left outside, everything was foggy and moist outside but i kept going. Then I vagely remember seeing a schoolbus pass barely visible, the world started shaking and i woke up.

I don't know why I made one for my brother and it seems I was making the others for people I didnt even know exsisted otherwise.

I felt like i was making them to protect some people but I dont know who they were. My mood in the dream was serious. Not happy or sad just serious and determined. After securing the other five in this special satchel I had, which was a leatger satchel with light gold lining around it. I went out into the fog not knowing where to go or who they're each for but trusting I would find my way to them.

I tried going back to sleep hoping to continue the dream but had no luck. What is everyones take on this? Thank you for your feedback.

(I apologise if I repeat and thing or the order in which I wrote this seems odd. I texr it to my girlfriend then copy/pasted the sections I wrote and edited them for more clarity.)

dream about the end of humanity

so there was this underground terrorist organization, they hide themselves amongst society by selling ice cream in trucks. They did exactly as they should, sell ice cream but every once in a while when either no one wants so buy ice cream or there are no people nearby they dropped off a dark blob about the size of a door and when someone got close to it it covered and started melting away their body eventually taking over their body and consciousness and spread like a disease, next thing I knew most of the human populous turned into these red fleshy zombies that regenerated their bodies if it got severed or damaged so killing them permanently was almost impossible only way being Buddhist talisman or prayers in Hindi, Nepalese, Dzongkha, Tibetan and in some cases Chinese, Mongolian and Japanese if you were a monk, most of the western world collapsed and only got rid of the parasites with nukes. to make one thing clear, I am not a Buddhist

shells and stones

I often dream about falling asleep and/or waking up and everything that happens in between. Is there a word for that?

Here’s my recent dream rendezvous.

I’m in my dreamscape, wandering around naked under the pale moonlight. I’m young, but I don’t know how old. My only adornment was a very old ornate emerald talisman and a silly sack of stones. I intuited that the stones were with me for safe passage, wherever I was headed.

In the dream, I’m walking around a forested island, and I seem to be the only one on the island. This went on for many hours (island time) before I hear what sounds like a weeping horn in the distance. I walk closer to the shore and realize it sounds more like the trumpet of a conch being blown. So, there I am at the shore and I can now see a figure and indeed they are blowing into a large conch shell.

The figure reaches out his hand, and I hold it. I take out my sack of stones and find a tiny chambered nautilus mixed in with the various basalt, quartz, and sandstones. We hold hands and peer into the spiral of the nautilus. Then we travel to some unknown place, with no real separation, no duality, just connection. It was beautiful.

The end of the dream is me waking up on the other end of my bed covered in moon jelly. I step on various seashells that now line my floor, like a seashell cave. I cut my feet on the shells and say “it’s OK my feet will heal, my feet will heal.”

Any insights?

Devour

I woke up from a very strange dream.
I was at this house gathering/party and some people could use magic.
There was a common enemy and a few people teamed up to fight them.
A young man and a tall woman took on another woman who was obviously using black magic - she was angry at the world because her father and someone else had suffered and maybe died? ( I can’t remember the full reason)
After finally cornering her to prevent her from harming anyone, the young man threw a talisman paper at her and both the tall woman and young man mumbled something about “Devour” and it started to consume the other girl.
