What are possible meanings for dreams of machine guns?
Guns have a variety of possibilities for symbolism related to defensiveness, anger, and destructiveness. A machine gun can be thought of as gun symbolism on steroids, expressing a higher level of defensiveness, anger, or destructiveness.
For example, in a dream a guy hides behind a metal garage door as his girlfriend on the other side sprays bullets through it with a machine gun, symbolizing a heated dispute with his girlfriend the previous day. She made multiple angry accusations against him, from which he tried to defend himself, symbolized by the metal garage door. The bullets fired through it symbolize that some of the accusations “hit home,” and her method was to keep firing till she hit her mark.
Machine guns are prevalent in the media, and if you watch something during the day featuring machine guns, the imagery might be replayed in your dreams. The difference between meaningful symbolism involving a machine gun and just replaying imagery seen during the day is found in your response to the presence of a machine gun and the context of it in a dream. A machine gun that symbolizes something you fear or dread will evoke those feelings in you. On the other hand, if a machine gun symbolizes a rapid-fire way of talking, you aren’t likely to react with fear.
For example, you dream about machine guns firing on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day. The previous day you watched a documentary about the event, and the imagery in your dreams is similar. Your mild reaction to the imagery is a big clue that your brain is just coughing up memories. On the other hand, you may dream from the perspective of a soldier dodging bullets, feeling terror or courage or other emotions. Such a dream is more likely to be meaningful.
Dreams create scenarios to test you and help your growth, so a machine gun in a dream might be part of a test of your courage or resourcefulness. Or, if you’re a student of history, the same imagery could be a way of putting you into the scene to truly understand what the soldiers went through that day. It’s a dream theme common to students wanting to know a subject from the inside out. See the example dream at the end of the entry for Serial Killer.

Reoccurring theme in dream
Last night I had a dream that I was with my dad in a store watching TV. I stepped outside for some reason and saw that across the road a group of rebel militia with machine guns were shooting people. I ran back into the store and screamed, “Everyone get out now, run around the corner.” I ran outside and waited for people to follow. People were confused at first but then saw the rebel militia running towards us. I grabbed my dad and we started running away. The road was on a very steep hill and about half way up the hill my dad started to give up. I kept yelling at him to keep going, to push through, there’s no point just running half way, give it all you have. We finally made it to the top and turned into another road where I made us jump fences into people’s backyards and hide in bushes. This part is the reoccurring part. Whenever I’m getting chased I always try to outsmart the killers by running as far as I can and then jumping fences and hiding so I’m not running in just a straight predictable line.

Most terrifying dream I’ve had
About 2 weeks ago,I had this really scary dream. It felt so real I thought I’d wet myself.Since I was 11,I’ve been interested in history, specifically about WW2.I had heard so many stories told by people who have been involved.I learned about what they did, what they saw,and what they had to go through. It was really sad and messed up.This happened when I was 13.Anyway,I was a Japanese foot soldier stationed on the island of Saipan. My fellow soldiers were exhausted as we were spending countless days fighting without any food or water. We got the order to attack one last time and to throw ourselves at the enemy. It was sunset,we lined up on the front waiting for the Americans to advance.Soon enough we saw them carefully moving towards our position. Then our mortar teams started going at it.Soon the Americans were taking cover from the incoming explosives. As this happened,I saw an American boy not to old crying out for his parents. It really saddened me.But this was war,I couldn’t get so soft so quick. Our General stood up and drew his Katana screaming “突撃” (Charge). All of us started to charge at the enemy.Once they figured out was was happening, they unleashed hell on us.Machine guns tore through us like we were made of nothing. An explosion landed near me and I fell to the ground.Right next to me was my best friend. His chest covered in blood.I laid there watching the life drain out of his eyes.It was too sad to see,so I continued. We we’re closing in on the enemies position, but most of us had already fallen.I jumped down into a fox hole where there was an injured young man.I walked up to him, yelled “くそくらえ” (eat shit) and finished him off.Right then,I woke up frightened.Even though it was just a dream,I felt so guilty for even thinking about that. Now I’m not anti American. In fact I live here in Hawaii.Just wanted to share this terrible dream with you guys.Thank you for your time.

Apocalyptic nightmare that burned itself into my memory
Apocalyptic setting, nighttime, dark clouds int he sky.
I think in the distance I saw a city glowing, the sky obove the city also seemed as if it was glowing.
I somehow went there to see what's up with it, it was really far away but I was there just the next moment.
Stuff that happen in the city was:
Trains full of dead African looking people rained down upon the city as if they were comets, striking down buildings and crows of people alike. The city was burning in many places. Everyone on the streets was panicking. Some of them were carrying machine guns, protecting themselves against an enemy on ground, a strange looking solder which in my memory closely resembled the Half-Life 2 combine soldier. They shot civilian's and where able to quickly navigate by using teleportation. Someone gave me a weapon, I shot one of the soldiers. We uncovered the face of one of them, they were actually human. They felt more like puppets than human beings and it seemed like their goal was to just swipe out the city's population.
Might be a dream about an alien attack, what do you think?

The head of a yellow snake turned into a frog
I was a ninja-type guy with a machine gun and a sword. I was penetrating some evil government fortress, when all of a sudden a group of yellow snakes blocked my path. I took out my sword and swung, and their heads popped off. When the heads hit the ground, I noticed that they sprouted legs. It looked as if the body of a frog was replaced by a snake’s head. I then proceeded to walk past and continued on with my dream.
Does anybody have any clue what this could possibly mean? It was extremely random too, I’ve never dreamed about swords or snakes before. I’m also not a violent person (I’d never hurt a snake). I kinda feel like there’s some weird symbolism going on, I just can’t figure it out

Vivid, disturbing dream
Hi all, this post is to both remember what I just experienced and to maybe see what everyone thinks about this one. I just woke up due to a vivid, disturbing dream I had (I rarely dream). I dreamed that I was in a mall, and heard what sounded like a very loud dog whistle. It deafened everyone I was near. I then noticed that it was a distraction, the mall was being robbed by people with machine guns. I ran outside as soon as I noticed what was happening and hid in a dumpster full of old food and trash outside. The people opened the lid and pulled the guns on me, me and many others were taken hostage. We were tied up and all driven to some facility in Illinois. I then talked to a woman who was there to give me the new credentials for my job, a normal person. She had no idea what I was talking about, and I was then driven home. I am baffled and am now wide awake due to this. What was that? Lol
Also, I briefly saw my now-deceased mother in my dream as well, as well as one of my aunts
