What are purgatory dreams about?

It was really weird.

Time and time again when I was a kid I would end up in the same empty arcade. It was a huge place and I was always the only one there.

It wasn’t a bad or creepy place, but at one point I became scared that the arcade might be my purgatory or something. So one night before bed I sort of thought really hard and really deliberately about how I never wanted to go back there, and after that I never had the dream again.

so this dream I think I was basically stuck in a purgatory in which I died protecting my lover until I move on from my lover or they move on from me. I died a couple of times FEELING THE STUPID ARROW IN MY BODY AS I LAY BLEEDING OUT IN THE GROUND AND FEELING IT. I think at one point they meet another person during pre-loop period and start having fun with them and laughing. So I died a couple more times and felt it all and eventually the dream ended because as I was bleeding out in extreme pain in the ground I looked up and saw my lover being happy with another person and I thought “maybe I’m not the right person after all” and blacked out.
Anyways I’m awake and heart still hurts like a bitch.

A man who was being abused by his co-workers had a car accident due to mental exhaustion. When he wakes up, he appears in another world, like a purgatory, with Aztec aesthetics and lack of color. He meets several people who were there in a makeshift house, they tell him that he has to get to the top of a tower that is seen in the distance to revive and at the same time receive riches but to get there he must perform many tests on the way, the man overcomes many tests but he had the last one left, before climbing the last stretch, he decides to return to tell those people to go with him but they all refuse telling him that it is better to go alone. After that, they "motivate" him to continue on his way, he returns to the base of the last stretch of the tower, takes a breath and begins to climb. The last stretch was complicated due to the obstacles that attacked him, they were like solid gold people that appeared from the floor and constantly tried to push him out of the stairs. He, after several attempts, manages to climb up and reaches a door, opens it, a white flash covers his vision. He wakes up in a hospital with his wife and son looking at him and crying with joy to know that he woke up. He did not see them for a long time since they were fighting, but this situation brought them back together, it gave him to understand that the gold in his dream was metaphorically his family.

Last night I had quite the unsettling dream. Basically my girlfriend and I were caught committing some crime(memory is a little foggy in this part) which resulted in her killing our witness. This inspired a lengthy police chase which ultimately ended in a familiar setting (her best friends house). Here, at least 2 more police officers/government people (it wasn't very clear) were killed by her/us in an attempt to get away with our crimes. Then all of a sudden she's killed, and as I notice this I'm shot in the back and in result fall to the ground. Realizing I can't move basically and the circumstances, I accepted that this was the end. I could hear chatter but it was hard to make out from the ground. Then the man walks over me, and another gunshot is fired which I assume was to my head, and everything starts slowly fading to black. And I accepted that. This is where things start to get weird. I wake up at my job (Dollar Tree) after hours (it was probably midnight). It was so eerie going down the aisles to what I assumed was my new purgatory. However, I was able to just walk on out of there through the front door. The world was identical to how it looked every other night as I do the night shift, with my girlfriends car parked in the usual spot but nobody else around. I drove it somewhere.Things start to get hazy and I cant really remember much after this but I know I was able to communicate with her as we were both dead and for a good while I was trying to figure out how to come back to life as I couldn't communicate with/find the living. I watched over my brother and Mom. Throughout the dream I repeatedly had to come to terms with the fact that I was dead, which was hard. Anyone know what this means? It felt like the dream had literally lasted all night and that in certain points I was in control. This is also my 3rd dream in a row to contain some kind of murder, but this one I died in. I honestly wish I could remember more about what lead up to the death/crimes, and what happened after I left the store I woke up in.
