What are possible meanings for dreams of spirits?

A spirit in a dream can be a pun for enthusiasm, fight, zest, and determination—full of spirit, or “uplifted spirits.” A person with spirit has strong character and makes the best out of things. The person “rises above.”

Spirit is the root of the word “spirituality,” which can be boiled down to your relationship with yourself and life. It’s your goodness. It’s your search for meaning and truth. It’s your better nature.

Spirit can symbolize something that “gets into a person” and makes him or her act strangely or out of character. See: Possessing

It can symbolize an unseen influence or feeling that something isn’t quite right. Spirit can be used interchangeably with ghost. Spirit can refer to something affecting you from outside your conscious awareness. It’s something unseen. Moods can seem to “come from nowhere.” Events and circumstances can turn for you or against you, seemingly without cause. See: Ghosts

A spirit that talks to you in a dream might be a messenger from the unconscious mind. Spirits are commonly believed to be messengers who come either to aid or harm humans. In dreams this association can be used when a person needs to “get the message.” It’s probably important so pay attention! See: Unconscious minds

An evil spirit can symbolize something that’s negative and intangible, such as influence and coercion. See: Evil

Be sure to read: Soul.

Dreamed I was made of soft plastic filaments and people around me too. And every time we collided an object appeared in the vicinity of the encounter as we bounced back from one another…🤯

I don’t even know if Freud could find the meaning of this one…Translated from French so there might be some strange words badly translated but the essential is there… It all starts with a game. I do stupid things. I don’t really remember where I am, but it could be around my grandmas house. I pull up plants and flowers that I put in a dumpster. I know I have to hurry because I don’t want to get caught. So I run faster and faster and I put more and more objects in the dumpster. Suddenly it’s fear. I see my little brother arriving with other people. I hide in the dumpster. But it’s too late. Here they are approaching and I jumped out of the dumpster. But there some strange things happened. When I get out of the dumpster I felt weird. Something is stuck to me. Fluorescent, transparent, sticky, gooey and fantastic. The people around me seem to know this stuff and a game starts between them and me. They too are affected by substance, I would even say that I am becoming substance and they too, and there is no longer any gravity. A dance follows and this substance binds between objects and subjects which leap up and down and from left to right. Billions of filaments are created in this dance and I see objects appearing in its vicinity. All kinds of objects, monuments, with each interactions with these people of new forms emerging and these billions of filaments between us, as we continue to bonfire from all sides, endlessly creating new fabulous objects. I watch them appear and disappear to become other objects as I move and interact with these people. The filaments of which I am now made are extraordinary. I dance and I fly looking at their multiple creation made of these billions of filaments. It almost looks like glue, or worse, slime. These forms are creation intertwined between the movements of my body, those of others and the limitless imagination of our minds. Then I feel like I only see the objects of other people’s spirits as I interact with them. I feel free and happy. This dream is intense and it is one of the most fantastic that I have ever had. It shows me in itself the object of artistic creation. The object of desire constantly metamorphosed. Made of a substance that first came from that dumpster and then became me. I hear people and their exclamations as each interaction creates different objects in the vortex of filaments that make us up. I am amazed. I can not believe it. Suddenly, I wake up. WTF? Any input would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a nightmare about killing my cat and I'm feeling really sad and worried after it. Don't know what it means.

I had a dream that I had a duplicate of my cat living in my house and replacing my cat whenever possible. The duplicate was some sort of an evil spirit or something, you could tell it's the duplicate cause it had one eye white. The duplicate would leave human and cat body parts in places around my house. I literally dreamt that there was a dead cat in a bowl of soup, pieces of human lip skin and tongue cut off of a human and put on the ground. Sometimes my mom would be patting the duplicate while I held my real cat and then I'd yell "mom, that's not (cats name)". The dream ended with me being given a choice to either die by the duplicate cat possessing my cat and killing my family or kill my cat. I begin to go from patting my cat slowly to patting my cat more and more heavily and then it just became hitting and then I woke up in tears and ran to check on my cat.

My sister called me in her dream...I heard it!

Two days ago, at around 5am, I was dreaming some sort of dream until I was slightly awaken by a voice calling my name--it was my sister's!

I almost jump out of my bed after hearing her voice calling from outside the house like she wanted to come in. But I made some logical thinking while my eyes were close that it is impossible that it was my sister as she was miles away from where I live. So, I made the conclusion that it was only some sort of a dream.

Then I heard her calling me again, this time longer.

I remember that some spirits call out for help if they are in the midst of danger so I tried to wake myself up and rang my sister's phone.

She answered on the other end, croaky, sounding like she was awaken by my call. I asked her how she was as I heard her voice calling my name.

She then told me that she was dreaming that she went to the mountains with me, we were joined by some people. As we go along, she got stuck to a bunch of trees and was paralyzed. She was looking around but couldn't find me or anyone we were with.

Suddenly, she felt some commotion behind her and was frightened by the sensation. So, she started calling my name.

She was able to escape from that dream by the sound of the phone ringing---it was when I called her.

My dead grandpa gave me a basket of vegetables he grew himself, most of which were eggplants. What could that possibly signify?

In the dream, I knew he was dead and that it was his 'spirit'. We were at his house. By we I mean him, my mother, my grandmother and I. He helped us pack the basket into the bonnet of our car before we left the house to god knows where.

I have a feeling its him reassuring me or telling me i'm going to receive some sort of good news? At least I hope thats what it means.

I know this sounds silly, but I genuinely feel his presence very strongly ever since he died. Others have dreamt of him crying for me before back when I was depressed/suicidal and no one even knew.

Dream of two gigantic snakes surrounding a crowd of people.

Two massive snakes surrounded a crowd of people, some of my family was in the crowd, they weren't panicking though. Someone had a microphone and was speaking, then they gave it to my brother and let him speak and he said "Aliens don't exist, we mistake them for spirits and demons."
