What are possible meanings for dreams of coffins?
A coffin is one of those dream symbols that can spark worry and dread, but like everything else in dreams it’s symbolism. The trick is to figure out which personal or common association is used to create the symbolism.
Coffins are commonly associated with death, and death in dreams can refer to figurative death: death of a relationship, death of the “old you,” the end of a phase of life, a big change in the way you feel or think.
A coffin can symbolize something that you want to put in the past, that you never want to see again. The imagery of closing or burying a coffin arises most commonly in dreams after the end of a contentious relationship or difficult time of life.
Burying a coffin can be associated with ideas like burying a grudge, burying the past, and burying memories. See: Burying
A closed coffin in a dream can indicate that something in your life has come to a close. The lid of the coffin closes, and that’s the end.
Digging up a coffin can symbolize digging up old memories or uncovering buried feelings.
Of course, a coffin in a dream can refer to an event in your life, such as the death of someone you know. It can indicate that something about that event still needs to be processed, especially your emotions.
Being in a coffin can symbolize confinement. A dull, listless, or depressed existence is comparable to slowly rotting away even though you’re alive. Something’s killing you inside. You might be stuck in a situation or place where you’ve been too long. See: Cages, Jails
It can symbolize claustrophobia or fear of death.
It can symbolize keeping secrets, something that will “go to the grave” with you.
As with all symbols, your feelings are your guide. If the image of the coffin in your dream makes you feel relieved, it can mean you are happy that something is over and done. You’re ready to move on. If you feel anxious or worse, it can mean something still needs to be dealt with, perhaps something that you buried and tried to forget. The longer it remains unresolved, the worse it becomes.

Grim Reaper
Back in 1999, I had a dream that I walked into a run-down trailer. The whole place was very dark, so I made my way to the only light, down the hallway in what I assumed was a bedroom. I opened up the door and in the room were 3 coffins. I was absolutely terrified but I knew I had to open them, so one by one I did. The first and second contained family members of a friend of mine, my friend's grandma and uncle. The third coffins was small, as of a child's. Although I didn't want to open it, I did anyway, and there lay my friend's nephew.
One by one, in order of how I opened thecoffinss, they all passed away in real life.

Am I dying?! 😮🤔😂
Just woke up from a dream in which I was told it was my time to die. I started to prepare in tears, writing down my last wishes and being tutored on how to exist in my final moments in the coffin that my family would surround as I died. At some point I was in the living room of my husband's parents' apartment---a real-life hub for the whole family---and I was with his great grandmother. She was dressed all in white and sitting in a rocking chair while I sat in the floor beside her. I never met this woman in real life, but she lived to about 100 years old. In the dream, she was still alive but about to die too, and I got the sense that I would travel with her (or that maybe she would guide me?) when we passed. I contemplated how much she must have seen change in her 100 years, and how much she was able to do. It occurred to me that it was unfair that I would only get to live to my current age (34), and that everything I've already done is all I would ever do.
So yeah, is this dream prophesy? Is it reflecting something else, a feeling or whatever, in my real life? Or is it just a random dream 👀?

Mom, casket & pyramids
Hello all, I've nvr posted here so I hope I'm in the correct sub. What I'm hoping, is that someone has answers, insights or opinions, that may help wh my current state of mind. Ok, here goes..my mom was an international flight attendant for 43yrs before her death in 2011. Fun fact: she was the 1st blk flight attendant United Airlines hired in the latter part of the 60's. She flew constantly & due her international trips, she was always gone & in my entire life, I've never spent a consecutive year wh my mom. Needless to say, we never really got to know one another, while living in the same home & as I got older we really didn't get along. Just a bit of background, as it may help any interpretations ppl might have. So, the dream..whn I was a child btween the ages of 6-9yrs of age, I would have the same recurring dream several times a month for those 3yrs. The dream was of my mother in a casket, arms folded ovr her chest, eyes closed. The casket was in motion, somewhere in a desert type setting, speeding past 3 pyramids wh those large dust & weed bundles rolling aside the coffin. In the dream, I was desperately crying & chasing the coffin, trying wh all my mite to wake her up because the coffin was taking her further away from me. The dream always ended the same way..wh the coffin containing my mom dropping into a large black hole in the ground & me falling in after, unable to save myself. This was followed by the most paralyzing sleep paralysis ever. I could not pull myself out & I recall being aware that I was struggling extra hard, to get up. My care taker at the time was a neighbor, a little old lady. She would be awoken by my cries & would run in
& in hug me, bringing cookies/milk, while telling me it was just a dream & my mother was alive & just at work. Sidebar: I still comfort eat at midnight, thnx to Mrs. Rivers & her nightly comfort treats. My mom passed away in 2011 due liver failure, as a result of alcoholism. My mom was suffering mental issues I assumed was associated wh her alcoholism, so I'd done my best to get her in patient help at sev mental facilities believing she'd be ok, if she kept on her meds..she nvr did. I had no idea she was actually dying from liver failure, because she never allowed her medical doctors to unveil the truth. So whn she passed it was a shock. The weight of it all collapsed me. Prior to her death, not knowing of her terminal illness & thinking it was a just a mental issue, I had taken time off from work to try & finally establish a rapport wh her & hopefully fix her mental probs. I had just been promoted & had bought my 1st home. The weight of trying to corral a mentally ill parent u have no rapport wh & handling my own life was crushing. I ultimately lost EVERYTHING. My home, my hard earned & stable financial situation, but mostly, myself. It's been 9 weird yrs since her death & im still not Jennifer. Was that recurring dream a premonition? Am I doomed forever? What did it mean? Just why..?

Is this normal?
I had this dream this morning, Nov 3, 2020, I am 20 years old, interested in marxism/socialism stuff like that and do not have a significant other. I have never experienced anything like this before, esp. what happened right after I woke up:
I was in another land, and arid land in the desert somewhere with my family. I think socialism was instituted here, and my family was making fun of it. The workers in the village there were given tickets that said “stitch” in another language. My aunt said to me: “you know what this means? They are giving people cards that say stitch and fooling them into stitching a railroad.” Railroad making is backbreaking work. However, I pointed out that here a railroad was helpful because it created jobs and a way for the villagers to leave town and go someplace more advanced to get water/food. There was also a castle in the outskirts of this village and a stone stairway that led there. The stairway went up and down three hills, very steep rocky mountains actually. There was a line all the way there, with couples making love doggy-style every foot or so. You had to make love doggy style to your lover and walk along the stone stairs to the castle *at the same time*. Once I was in the castle, I told the man inside what we were here for. He said, ok I can give you three treatments. I said that we should have gotten six, one for every member of my family. He said something like, ok dude I am here working late I don’t have time for this drama. I was placed in a coffin or a rubber-like chrysalis and electrodes were placed on my head. Somehow I knew that the purpose of this technique was to separate the sectors of my mind and create a whole new view of the world, one where my thoughts and speech were reversed, I think. When I came out of the chrysalis, I could feel my mind separating, there was a black line separating my speech from my thoughts, and it started to contort and shift. I could feel my thoughts being spoken, even though I was not voluntarily speaking, and when I moved my lips to speak, thoughts entered my head. I heard a voice, maybe my own thoughts, that said “there are two awful effects of this treatment, the first one is not as bad as the other. One effect is the one you are experiencing know, and the other is that.” *You are now awake*. The craziest thing is I had the thought *you are now awake* after I had woken up from my dream, but it was if it was a continuation of my dream, though. Even after I was awake it felt like the words *you are now awake* were still part of the dream.

Dreamed about an open casket funeral
I had a dream that I was at a funeral and there were a lot of people. And we were all sitting and people had to go row by row sit next to the coffin to say their goodbyes. Its like in my mind it was my mother, but people were going before me because they were the close family and in the casket was the mom in a show I watched recently. There were even the kids from the show going to the casket before me. But people were treating me like I lost my mom. It was very odd, I felt really bad throughout the whole dream. People would take breaks sitting next to the coffin to talk, and I was just waiting anxiously for it to be my turn. And then I woke up with my heart racing because I heard the doorbell ringing, but no one really rang the doorbell.
