What are possible meanings for dreams of lost things?
When you lose an item in a dream, it can mean you’re missing something intangible, such as your confidence, health, or freedom. For example, you dream about losing a lucky charm; it symbolizes losing your confidence. You dream about losing the keys to your car, symbolizing an illness that has kept you house-bound.
Keys can symbolize something that is “key” to you. For example, a certain employee is a key person for accomplishing a project, so losing a key can symbolize losing something that’s a key to success. See: Keys
The symbolism of a lost purse or wallet can connect with items that are commonly kept in them. Purses and wallets typically contain identity documents, money, and financially related items such as credit cards. See: Purse, Walls
Losing a phone can symbolize a communication problem. You’re not able to articulate your thoughts or feelings. Or the person you’re trying to reach on the phone isn’t listening or accessible—especially emotionally accessible. See: Phones
Usually, the symbolism of a lost item connects with the symbolism of the item itself, but consider also how a lost item can be used to tell a story about being disorganized, misplacing and losing things. Losing an item can connect with the general symbolism of being lost, which often connects with feeling lost or not knowing the way to a goal or destination in life. See: Lost

Stuck at the airport
I also had this dream last week. F/40s
Dream I am going to America for a holiday. I have only packed my duffle bag and only a handful of items.
I'm at the airport. I arrive very early. A lot of the dream is set in a big airport lounge. I really enjoy wandering around feeling like I am alone and enjoying it and looking forward to the trip.
As I go down the escalator, a volunteer old man wants to look at my ticket for ages and explain stuff to me I am impatient and barely hold back from rolling my eyes.
Now I have my two sons with me.
They have also each packed a bag. But I haven't checked them so I think they will have forgotten things.
I'm really early, but it's not until I am about to depart that I realise I don't really have enough stuff.
Luckily I have my US dollars packed- a stack of it. I think maybe I'll be able to buy what I need when I get there.
I see an empty hidden compartment in my handbag and think that would be to hold a passport. [It didn't occur to me in my dream that there is no passport in there, but when I woke up I thought this was an interesting detail.]
I realise this will be more of a family trip, no chance of a getaway alone.
An older woman and young boy asks me if they can leave the airport to visit the Great Sandy Hills.
I say, 'No there is a 6 ft fence, you can't leave the airport area.' They are disappointed, they had hoped to see some sights while they were here. But really they are just in transit, they shouldn't expect to be able to get out. I think, 'how stupid they are to think they'll be let out, how ridiculous!'
I watch a tv news clip of covid lockdown about new rules about extreme punishment if someone accidentally infects someone because they go out. The footage shows someone locked into their completely sealed off apartment basically and workers are pumping air through tiny pipes in the window; definitely not enough air. I say, 's*** just got real' and am saddened at their loss of freedoms.
Overall feeling of sadness.

I fell in love... in a dream.
I had a dream a few hours ago, and I can't stop thinking about it. I won't go into the details -- it was a crazy, complicated dream -- but I fell in love with a guy, who was then hit by a car. When he woke up from the coma, I realized I was in love with him, and I just remember hugging him so tightly all night and sobbing because I had almost lost him.
When I woke up, I felt this huge loss. I don't miss him, but I miss that feeling. I can still almost feel my arms around me. I've never been in love before (I'm still in HS) but I don't think I've ever felt like that before -- it wasn't just an infatuation. It was genuine love and deep, passionate caring, like our souls understood each other. Maybe I'm just touch starved.
Anyway. I know I sound crazy. I'm sorry for my rambling. But has anyone else experienced this?

Thought I lost my old diary notes from a few years ago, was sad but even sadder when I realized I was never again gonna remember the lyrics to the dumbest song I've ever heard in my life that came up...
Keep in mind that the song itself sounded beautiful until I woke up and thought about the lyrics:
People person, banana person? People person
People person, banana person? Banana person
People person, banana person? People person
People person, banana person? Banana person
People person, banana person? Pear person
People person, banana person? Dog person

I shot myself in my dream but I didn't wake up, I think I felt death
When I woke up in my dream I was standing in a huge grass field with a mansion behind me. My father was sitting in a lawn chair next to me and told me to go hide because the war was starting. I went over to a little bridge with water underneath. Grabbed a bucket and got into the water with the bucket over my head. I stayed there for about 5 mins. I remember hearing my breath in the bucket and feeling cold from the water. When the 5 mins passed, I got out and my looked for my dad. When I found him, he immediately told me to go back to the water because round 2 was starting. I grabbed the bucket again but before I had the chance to get into the water, a woman grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the mansion. She explained that "I wasn't supposed to be here." She led me to a very tall man in a blue suit. He took me to the front lawn and pulled out a gun. He told me that I can shoot myself or he would do it because I needed to leave. I decided to do it. I put the gun to my head and pulled the trigger. All the sudden bright lights were around me and I started floating. I felt so warm, like nothing has ever affected me before. It was actually an amazing feeling. I slowly woke up from this dream. Not panicked at all.
But I'm truly curious as to why I didn't wake up once I pulled the trigger? Also, No part of me is suicidal.
