What are possible meanings for dreams of makeup?
Makeup covers, so applying makeup can be thought of as covering up something. It can mean you are hiding or concealing something about yourself, such as personal flaws. The heavier the makeup, the more you are trying to conceal—especially when makeup is used to cover skin flaws. See: Hiding, Skin
Makeup is part of growing up for females, a rite of passage. Some females begin using makeup regularly at around puberty, so it marks a time of life when childhood is left behind. For a female around that age, dreaming about makeup can symbolize trying out new aspects of her persona as a female between childhood and adulthood. Then for the rest of her life, any rite of passage can be symbolized through makeup, especially the application of it.
For example, a woman dreams about stealing makeup from a store and trying to hide in the dressing room, but the attendant won’t allow her to enter because she looks like a boy. The dream sums up the dreamer’s experience as a teenager when her mom forbade her from wearing makeup and she was made to feel that she couldn’t be like the other girls her age. Stealing makeup symbolizes the feeling that she has to hide the fact that she uses it, even though she’s an adult, and generally feeling uncomfortable wearing it.
The associations branch out to include subjects such as loss of innocence, sex appeal, and cultural ideals of beauty and femininity.
Many personal associations can come into play when you dream about putting on makeup, especially if you regularly wear it. For example, makeup is associated with feminine sophistication. The more sophisticated the makeup, the more sophisticated the woman. Some women compare among themselves and judge each other on how well they use makeup, so the symbolism of makeup can connect with subjects such as feeling judged by appearance and how a woman compares with other women or lives up to cultural ideals.
Using too much makeup can symbolize compensating for perceived weaknesses.

Woke up laughing
I had a pretty funny dream recently.
I was in this interesting building which seemed to be a classic japanese hotel with lots of rooms, laminate flooring and this weird unfamiliar-yet-familiar feeling to it.
I was there with my dad and some distant relatives. We were walking through the corridors and after a while we decided to take a break from walking. We sat down next to a door under a large skylight.
We were just sitting there, when suddenly the door opened and a little girl in a ballerina dress and clown makeup (not the creepy kind, more like [this](https://images.contentstack.io/v3/assets/bltf10d43c9de06a4a3/bltc411ba780f586e0a/5dc53c54620f60040448a644/Rimmel_Blog_Halloween_Clown_Makeup_header.jpg?auto=webp)) stepped out. She looked at us for a moment, then started spinning around. She spun and spun in a weird, hypnotic and "springy" way. As she did her last turn and stopped, she suddenly had a moustache.
Seeing this, I had to laugh so hard that I woke myself up. Never had anything like this before but 10/10 would dream again.

A dream I had a while ago, this is what I wrote about it.
There I was, taken away from the world I belong to, me and my dog, to one where I was introduced to the horrors of universe domination.
I faintly remember familiar faces but they didn’t stick with me. In soft shades of lilac and orange, a white fog makes everything disappear.
In this dark house, sitting on its wooden floor, we are being watch by the strict eyes of a military force. Their leader stands out among them, a tall strong woman, visibly more refined by her confident stance and her perfect makeup which would’ve been inappropriate in such circumstances if it were anyone else wearing it. I remember her perfectly styled blond pixie cut, she was her own image of perfection and intended on seeing the multiverse at her feet, remodeled to her vision of an ideal society.
I held onto my dog as if my life depended on it, because it did. The world around me was disappearing, the trees, the grass, the sea infused with roses, it would all soon be gone. I walked up to a window, the fog had done its work, I saw a mansion of red bricks I have never seen before, in front of it was a forest of perfectly lined trees, a kind I have never seen before. Birch trees with blood red stripes like cuts on tortured prisoners. This wasn’t right, this wasn’t how it was meant to be. Only straight lines, only one way, no choice to be made, no freedom. I knew my homeworld was next.
I ran outside, I screamed in pain. A scream from the deepest corners of my being, I saw myself and heard myself, my scream was deafening.
But there was something I didn’t expect would happen. As I stepped back in the house, a soldier took matter in his own hands. Quite literally for he grabbed his leader and threw her to the ground. I hugged my dog and covered my eyes but I knew what was happening. I heard hits on the wooden floor, the leader’s head being slammed to the ground until she wouldn’t even have a spasm.
Such violence, I started crying. I cried and cried until I woke up.

I can't dind anything related to this dream, could you help me? (Japanese spirit)
Hello there! (this is my first time here, sorry!) I just dreamed something that rally freaked me out and I was wondering if this was a myth or something, I decided to write for help (sorry for my grammatical mistakes, I'm not a native speaker) I would thank you so much if you could help me! 💖💖💖
So I dreamed about moving to Japan because of a war in my country (México). There were thousands of mexicans in this japanese City. After settle down in this tiny and old apartmen a weird kind of feeling apeared, and I felt like someone or something was following me, I told this to my family and no one belive me and they thought that I was crazy. After this, a lot of things happened but are not necesary to tell (and I don't remember it very well anyways), but I do remember that my friend and her sister (who were refugee too) recommended me to dress a kind of japanese fit and wear white makeup (not like a geisha) and then go to pray to a temple, so I did that because it tourn out really creepy and I was really scared, shadows were following me. I went there and I started to pray, It didn't work and the shadows were scratching me and hurting me, but no one could see them, so I bursted into tears and I supplicated for help, AND THEN, a japanese guy appeared (He was taller than me, very pale, with a black-green japanese wear, with black paint on his face) and he protected me and hugging me, he cut with a katana all the "shadows", so I was crying and he told me something that I didn't understand, but I thanked him.
Please, I tried to serch if he was a legend or something or if my brain just was really bored hahahaha.
Thank you for reading! 💖

Have you ever seen a portrait of yourself in a dream ?
In my dream I wanted to go to sleep. I entered my bedroom, everything was gloomy and the furniture was misplaced. I take pride in having a beautiful home so this distressed me. It gave me creepy vibes and I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in my bed room.
There was self portrait of myself that stood out. It was bright and vivid unlike the other furniture in my room. The border in the picture was bright white. My portrait was black and white. I looked very put together, makeup, etc. I had a cute little smile on.
I didn’t think much of my portrait, just that it was much brighter than everything else. I did end up sleeping in my bed.
Apparently could mean something tragic will happen to me in real life? I’m not sure tho because the portrait was a happy one.
Any thoughts ?

Straight female (17) and I had a gay dream. What does this mean?
Slightly NSFW. On mobile so apologizes for any formatting errors.
I’m F17 and had a gay dream. It was a dream so a little nonsensical/hard to explain but I’ll do my best.
I forget how it started but essentially I was in my closet (not the metaphorical kind, my literal closet) with a bisexual female friend of mine kissing. Then we had to stop for whatever reason, and we planned to meet up again later to continue. The main part of the dream was the two of us running around at various “events” in my bedroom (think like, a conference being held in my bedroom that prevented us from being alone) trying to find a way to get into the closet just the two of us again.
Towards the end of the dream, I was alone on my bed and she knocked on my bedroom door and she said she was ready but she also brought another bisexual female friend of mine, and this second friend was for whatever reason wearing bright red, super messily-applied lipstick (she doesn’t wear makeup). We all went into the closet and were all insanely excited to FINALLY have sex after running around all day waiting for it, so we took our clothes off and I was trying my best to avoid Friend 2. Then Friend 1 took her pants off and asked “who wants to lick it?” in reference to her vagina. Friend 2 started to say something but I interrupted and said me. As soon as I started I realized I didn’t like it very much (it wasn’t unpleasant per se, just not great) but I had been waiting all day for this so I was trying to like it. Then I woke up.
Any thoughts? Does this mean that I like being with women in the theoretical but not in the material? Am I straight? Any advice/interpretation appreciated.
