Wounding to the skin can symbolize a blemish on your reputation or damage to your persona. For example, a young woman dreams that a skinless creature with a knife wants to skin her alive. They fight epically and end up in the street, where the creature is hit by a city bus. The dream symbolizes a situation with her former employer. She sued the company and her former supervisor retaliated by spreading rumors about her. In the skinless creature, she sees a projection of her raw and wounded feelings related to a public dispute. Because skin is sensitive, it can symbolize emotional or physical sensitivity. For example, a painful burn on your skin can symbolize being “burned” emotionally, or burned by an argument.
