What are possible meanings for dreams of lips?
Lips have potential for symbolism related to their use and function, such as for talking, eating, and kissing. The symbolism will be defined by the actions and other details involving lips, and by the context in which they’re used in the dream-story. Most human dream characters are going to have lips and that doesn’t mean that the symbolism of lips is being used. The lips in the dream have to be important to the story.
For example, chapped lips can symbolize difficulty with articulation, or saying things that hurt, or embarrassment.
Bloody lips can symbolize arguments and other sorts of harsh verbal exchanges.
Swollen lips can symbolize proud talk or arrogance, similar to the idea expressed in the term “swollen head.”
A fat lip can symbolize saying something stupid or something that provokes someone’s anger.
Cut lips can symbolize saying something that gets you into trouble, or that hurts.
Lips cut off or missing can symbolize restrictions in your diet, or being forbidden or unable to say something.
Putting on lipstick can symbolize sweet-talking, or hiding the truth. Lipstick can symbolize something you say that sticks to you. It becomes associated with you, perhaps part of your reputation or image. See: Makeup
People who talk for a living, such as salespeople and broadcasters, have more to consider because lips can be used to symbolize something related to their work. See: Jobs
Kissing in a dream can be a sign of intimacy. Intimacy is often used in the sense of romantic or sexual intimacy, but dreams can use it in the sense of being close and personal. For instance, you might dream about kissing a close friend after having an intimate conversation or sharing secrets. Kissing and talking both involve the mouth, creating a strong connection that can be used as symbolism.
Extend the idea of intimacy and it can symbolize intimacy with a subject. Ideas and creativity are candidates for kissing symbolism because people tend to feel a personal closeness with them. Ideas and creativity are intimate parts of a person. Just watch how people commonly react to comments or criticism about their ideas and creative endeavors. They tend to get defensive and take it personally, like protecting someone they love.
A common variation of the kissing theme in dreams involves your significant other kissing another person, or kissing your ex. See: Infidelity, Former partners
Seeing your ex kiss another person in a dream can symbolize recognition that the person has moved on from the relationship and is perhaps seeing other people. Kissing your ex can express the desire to get back together with that person, or to get in touch.
Kissing someone as your ex watches can mean that your mind is still on your ex, or you have moved on from the relationship, and you know your ex hasn’t. It can symbolize desire to make the person jealous.
Kissing in a dream can be a wish-fulfillment or fantasy, especially if you have a crush on the person depicted as a character in a dream. Dreaming about your crush kissing someone else can be an expression of jealousy or desire to get the person’s attention. But also consider that it can symbolize a close conversation with the person. People often confuse kissing for desire when usually in dreams it’s associated with talking and conversation.

Dream About Snake Swallowing my Girlfriend
In this dream me and my girlfriend were swimming in the ocean when I remember just stopping to look up at her. She was swimming gracefully, but she seemed to be swimming fully naked which is odd since we're in a culture where women often wear dresses. Suddenly from behind her this strange looking serpent started swimming towards her with it's mouth fully agape. I don't know how I knew, but the snake was female with very shiny pink scales, human like eyes, and big red humanlike lips. I was paralyzed forced to watch as the serpent swam towards my girlfriend. My girlfriend tried to swim away from her, but she started to suck her up. My girlfriend was sucked up and swallowed without much effort. I remember panicking as I saw the serpent swallowing her, and I could see the defined bulge of her body sliding down the snakes throat and stomach.

Horrible Dream About Teeth Falling Out - Help?
It was Halloween and the dream. I was just out for a night time walk and tge moon was full. It was huge too. Took up way more of the sky than it should. And I found a mask on the ground, a white mask. I don't really remember much details about the masks, just that it had these painted red lips on it. It looked vaguely like the face of a china doll.
I picked it up and I ran over to this girl with long blonde hair and I asked if the mask belongs to her. She said she had no idea who it belongs to that she thought the mask meant something bad. Like there was someone here who was supposed to be here.
The girl was carrying a black pillow case that I think was full of candy or something. Anyway, we were walking around trying to see who the mask belongs to and coming up blank. There was a boy with a buzz cut with us as well. I think we were part of some kind of unisex Scout Troop.
Anyway we walked by this big white house and I somehow get separated from both of them. And then I feel something in my mouth and it's my retainer. I have not needed to wear a retainer for several years. For some reason it's really uncomfortable so I try to take it out by poking at it with my tongue.
My retainer pops out and to my horror take several of the teeth on the bottom row of my mouth with it. I freak the fuck out and I try to shove them back into place repeatedly. But then one of them starts falling apart in my hands and I'm just standing there with a bunch of bloody teeth in my hands trying to frantically jam them back into the little teeth holes that they got yanked out of.
Some of them stay in place and for that I'm grateful. But my mouth really hurts and there's blood everywhere. Then the blonde girl from earlier walks by and she says to me, "Hey what's wro - OH MY GOD!" And start screaming when she sees in my hands and the blood running down my chin. I'm babbling and I'm trying to explain what happened and say that I need to get to a doctor but then all of my talking ends up pulling out the teeth that I was able to put back in. And my head is spinning my mind is racing and I'm just thinking to myself, "It's not happening, it's not happening, it's not happening this is too horrible" and then I woke up.

I think I just met a succubus...?
First off I’m 18/female/virgin. I went to sleep very early yesterday(5pm), woke up at 12am and went back to sleep. As I was falling asleep I felt and heard this very strong vibration .i slip into sleep paralysis in the most uncomfortable position ever, then I slip out of paralysis and “wake up”. I get out of bed, everything seems normal. I go down the hall and just for fun I decide to test if it’s a dream(something I do in my waking life).First I bite my lip, it hurts. So I decide to test this new way by putting my finger through my palm, it hurts ALOT but I’m able to put it through. i realize I’m having a unnaturally vivid lucid dream. I run back to my room and the lights are now off. I get on my bed and this man appears sitting on the edge of my bed , he asks without saying anything what’s my preferred physical appearance. But I guess my mind must’ve said “show me your true form” because what I saw for a brief moment was him but as some type of dark figure,w very black eyes w hints of red and silver. I was scared shitless still attracted to that thing in some way but scared. He must’ve realized I was scared because he morphed into my ideal male. It was almost like i was in a trance , and when i snap out of it he is already on top of me. I NOPED out of that dream and woke up with odd racing thoughts about scary things, almost involuntarily because of how fast they were going.
Fast forward to now it 4am ,scared but oddly intrigued about what just happened.I turn on the lights and there’s an imprint on the edge of my bed, exactly where the entity sat in my dream.

I had a nightmare about killing my cat and I'm feeling really sad and worried after it. Don't know what it means.
I had a dream that I had a duplicate of my cat living in my house and replacing my cat whenever possible. The duplicate was some sort of an evil spirit or something, you could tell it's the duplicate cause it had one eye white. The duplicate would leave human and cat body parts in places around my house. I literally dreamt that there was a dead cat in a bowl of soup, pieces of human lip skin and tongue cut off of a human and put on the ground. Sometimes my mom would be patting the duplicate while I held my real cat and then I'd yell "mom, that's not (cats name)". The dream ended with me being given a choice to either die by the duplicate cat possessing my cat and killing my family or kill my cat. I begin to go from patting my cat slowly to patting my cat more and more heavily and then it just became hitting and then I woke up in tears and ran to check on my cat.

Dream of a Deformed Dog
Last night I had a freaky dream. Wasn’t really a nightmare because the overall vibe was positive but definitely got caught off guard in it. I was at an animal shelter with the premise I guess of adopting a dog. I feel like I wanted to go for a dog that’s been there a while, that no one wanted, perhaps special needs. So I get taken into a room with this dog. He’s laying on a dog bed, with his head facing away from me. I’m told his name is Gummy. He is a Dalmatian, Golden Retriever mix so he’s spotted like a Dalmatian but with the fluffiness of a Golden Retriever. He’s quite large as well, probably coming to my waist when I am standing. As I approach him, he turns his head and finally looks at me. I’m shocked for a second at what I see. His jaw is deformed, a little off center with the lower jaw being too short for the top snout so his tongue is out and he has scarring as if he’s had corrective surgery. His lips are taut and show off his gums, hence the name Gummy. He looks like he’s always smiling or baring teeth. For a few seconds I’m taken off guard and say “Oh God” as I wasn’t expecting his appearance then he starts wagging his tail at me and I pet him. We’re having a good interaction when I wake up. Ideas?
