What are possible meanings for dreams of winter?
A wintry setting in a dream can symbolize something in decline, such as health or fortune.
It can symbolize a feeling of dreariness or a time of hibernation. You might be conserving your resources. See: Bears
It can mean you are experiencing hardship, especially if you dream about trudging through snow or getting blasted by wintry weather. Anything that hinders travel in a dream can symbolize something that hinders you in life. Snowstorms are a common metaphor for having difficulty in life—personal difficulty or depression, or hassles and delays. See: Blizzards
Then again, snow has good connotations, too. Some people associate it with the Christmas holidays. It’s fresh and new, even pure and innocent—pure as driven snow. Waking up in the morning to see a landscape covered in virgin snow can awaken your sense of wonder and bring out the kid in you (build a snowman, anyone?). It can mean you are excited by new possibilities. You’re starting over. You have a fresh outlook.
Winter can characterize feelings, emotions and personal situations that are cold or frosty, or the cold feeling of depression or unhappiness. See: Blizzards, Depression, Ice
A frozen winter setting can mean you feel “frozen out” or distant. Relationships are described in terms of hot and cold. If you are “out in the cold” or “left in the cold,” it means excluded or forsaken.
Think along the lines of something that can make you cold inside: the thought of your mate leaving you, fear of death or declining health, rejection, or finding out you failed a test. Those situations can be symbolized by snow and cold.
A cold house in a dream can symbolize emotional distance. Life lacks emotion, personal warmth, or vitality. It can characterize a relationship with someone shown in the home with you in the dream.
A cold feeling accompanies feelings of fear. When an illness strikes, you can get the cold feeling that your life is changing in a bad way. It can relate to the feeling of something that is inevitable, such as the cold realization that an important relationship is irreparably damaged, or a course of events is leading to an unwanted conclusion, or a goal or ambition will not be reached.
Take the idea further and feeling cold can be associated with fear of exposure, because you can be cold when exposed to cold weather. You might fear that a hidden part of yourself will be revealed, or that actions or behaviors you have tried to conceal will be revealed.
Winter cold can symbolize lack of activity or inspiration. No progress is made.
Another possibility for the feeling of being cold relates to physical condition. You really are cold! Perhaps a blanket fell off the bed while you were sleeping, or a window was left open, allowing cold air in. Dreams translate physical sensations into imagery, so in such a situation you might dream about a wintry landscape or walk-in cooler.

I had a dream where I was in a tundra, during cold winter, where I met a dark colored horse
In my dream It was the middle of winter in a heavy tundra during a snow storm apparently (think the middle of Syberia or Norway), I was wearing a heavy coat made of animal pelt. In the middle of the night, I wake up and go outside my cabin (I don't have one irl) and see a sort of apparition of a horse come to me, hit me, and gets absorbed into me. Next thing I know there is a dark skinned horse walking towards me from deep in the forest and just casually stops across from me and let's me pet it. Then comes a polar bear, I kill the bear and again the spirit of it gets absorbed by me which makes me think it's not a coincidence.
I have no idea what it all means so I come to you all hoping you'll have some answers for me!

I had this strange dream...
I was at work. Which was extremely weird knowing it was supposed to be saturday. I was there in only the blanket I have in my bed. I realise now that it must be a dream. Suddenly something happens. A fraction of a second goes by and all the machinery has been replaced with market stalls.
I go for the exit to call my mother to come to pick me up. For no apparent reason I start getting dizzy and fall to my knees multiple times on the way out. I see the staircase that would lead to freedom but once I get there it has disappeared. Somehow this wasn't weird to me, I simply stumble into the room that has replaced it. It was a green room with nothing but a chair in the opposite corner and a big window to the left of it. I sit down in the chair and from nowhere an old coworker of mine stands where I stood telling me that class will start soon. There's a rumbling sound outside so I look out the window to investigate. It's... snowing? In the middle of the summer? I see my coworker getting burried under a pile of snow right before my consciousness is transported someplace else.
I wake up in a pile of snow in an unidentified area. I sit up and look around, trying to find any landmarks to go by. Nothing. Nothing that I know of atleast. I now wear a thick winter jacket and pants. My best bet to get home would be to ask a nearby group of kids for directions. "Could you quickly tell me where I am?" I ask. "My memory is a bit foggy" the nearest kid says. "If you buy us some lollipops it might improve" he continued with an ear-to-ear grin. I decide to play on their terms. There's a small store right around the corner, "coop konsum" the sign reads. There's only one of those stores where I live but the area looks nothing like it. I must be in a different city entirely.
I go to the store and find some strange products I've never seen before including some small pink/orange colored cubes in a plastic wrapping that makes them look like a small chocolate bar. I proceed to take what I came for, the lollies for the kids. I get out of the store without paying and go to my mother's car which had stood there all along and I suddenly always knew it was there.
I lay back in the car seat to get some sleep because dream me is tired AF. I don't have time to fall asleep because out of nowhere, for no reason some homeless looking people start banging on the car's hood and pushing it around. I exit the car to talk to these paople but they're not very big on conversation it seems. The tallest one starts attacking. I could block the kick with my left arm with no problem but when I tried to counterattack I notice that physics are misbehaving. Every movement was in super slow-motion. Just as I land a soft kick on the man's chin I wake up. I flash back into reality hoping this was the real reality.
I have no idea what any of this could possibly mean. Maybe one of you could help me figure out this oddly high detailed dream.
(Also, what defines a short/medium/long dream?)

The Worst Nightmare I've Ever Had
I'm sitting in bed shaking because I need to get this out of my head while it's still fresh. This was the worst nightmare I've had, at least in living memory.

It started with me having to move back into my parents house. Not sure why, but it felt like something unfortunate had happened like I lost my job or apartment. It appeared to be early winter, because it was cold the whole time. I remember setting up an air mattress in the workout/junk room downstairs that leads to the basement. I felt horrible, like completely emotionally drained and depressed, but also unsettled and worried because my parents were never home.

I remember being half-asleep on the air mattress in the middle of the night when I thought I saw what looked like my mom going into the basement wearing black robes. I remember it was so cold and dark, but still being able to make out vague shapes in the gloom of the basement beyond, more people in black robes. Then I saw it.

It looked like an elephant's head had been mounted against the back wall, but it was still alive, if barely. I could feel its dead eyes glance over at me, tongue lolling out of its mouth as the basement door swung closed, and this horrible sinking feeling came into my chest like I had witnessed something profane and evil.

I remember starting to cry in the dream out of sheer terror, and feeling like I was going to die.

The dream then shifted to the next morning where I was still terrified, but also angry towards my mom for, apparently, being part of some secret cult. This is the part of my nightmare that hurt the most, because I genuinely love my mom. I remember screaming and crying at her, but she didn't react at all, like I wasn't even there. She just handed me a diary and went back downstairs into the basement.

In the diary I learned she wasn't really my mom, but some crazy woman who had stolen me and my sisters when we were babies, and had been lying to my dad the whole time. I immediately ran out of the house and dialed my siblings and dad crying and screaming, desperately trying to tell them about the cult in the basement and the diary. They all showed up to the house at the same time and we hugged and cried together before going into the house to confront our "mom", who immediately came charging at us with a knife.

At this point the nightmare abruptly ended, and I'm still on the verge of tears. I feel like I should call my mom, but there's still some aching part of me that hasn't woken up from the nightmare and is worried about what she might say. I don't know what the hell this all means psychologically, but I'm going to do happy things today to try and counteract this horrible feeling.

Hilarious lucid dream last night, where I threatened the people in my dream with my lucidity.
So I'm at the mall arguing with a bunch of 50-60 year old men and women. All I can remember is that they were all wearing either black or tan winter trench coats, with scarves hanging down. And they were all holding those multi colored paper Christmas shopping bags. I don't remember what we were arguing about yet were all yelling and pointing at each other pretty aggressively. Suddenly I became lucid in the middle of the argument, and let them all know about it. "I know I'm dreaming mother fuckers, Don't fuck with me. I know what I'm doing. I'll fuck you up!" Then I threw a few punches at one of the old ladies. I was trying my hardest to hit her, but I miss by a hair, like I always do when Im trying to punch someone in my dream. Then I woke up.

Revelations
The other night I had a dream I was at a dinner party at my brothers house. I live in Alaska and it was winter in my dream. Out of nowhere I ended up figuring out I could fly. At first I couldn’t control it and I was getting stuck to the ceiling. But when I managed to control it I went outside and I could fly as high or far as I wanted. And I could see all the landscape of my hometown. Then I decided to fly to Mexico. I remember so vividly flying over the boarder and going into Mexico which I’ve never been in my life. Any way when I get there there was this Mexican kid with braces and curly hair (and he was deaf) who I’ve never seen before and everyone in the town called him the Prophet. In my dream he waved me down and I flew to him to see what was up and he had this mural on a wall inside of a church. On the painting it showed the tree where eve had taken the apple of wisdom. And to the left of that was a painting of me flying titled “the miracle”. To the left of that was a painting of a 3 headed lamb with 3 eyes on each head but one of the heads had a stab wound. It was titled “the lamb (the sacrifice)”. To the left of that was a painting of 3 men in suits. Two of the men had white suits with eyes of every color all over the suits and they had no faces. The man in the middle was a blonde man with slicked back hair. This was called “the false prophets”. The last painting to the left was of 9 lights or shields flying in the sky. This painting was called “the revelation”. After this deaf kid showed me all this he violently started painting the tree from Eden and turned it into a mushroom cloud. Like a nuke went off. And he explained that the right side of the painting would be done after God unleashed his wrath. And after this there was some dialogue I can’t remember but then I flew up i into the sky and met 9 flying saucers that turned into metallic angels with golden wings. That was when I woke up. I read revelations growing up in a religious house but I’ve never been religious personally. But this dream I had felt like I was in revelations.
