I asked God about the meaning of life?

I just had a semi-lucid dream where I was winter hiking with a photographer and my two cousins and we stumbled upon a small hole in the snow/ice that led to an enormous lair/dimension.

A godly statue that was in this lair thing started flashing light and eventually started moving. He made is way up to us; I said hi to him and asked him how he was, and he waved at me peacefully.

I then asked him, “What’s the meaning of life?” He didn’t answer or stop, he just continued walking up to us.

Once he got to us, he slowly started winding up the right side of his body, and he says, “The meaning of life… is THIS (slaps me with his ginormous right hand)”.

Everything around me (and myself) breaks into colourful fractals. It’s like with this one slap, he destroys the entire world.

After a few seconds of falling backward/downward into these small fractals, and hearing screams around me, I awoke in my bed.

Any possible ideas of what this might mean, if anything?! Did I piss off this God when I asked him the meaning of life, or was that the meaning of life?!

Burning Coats

I was with my old friend from middle school. We only see each other once a year now. We were in a park, it was winter. People were sitting on benches covered in snow. They all took off their coats and threw them onto a big pile. They lit the pile to warm themselves.

My friend and I laughed at them for burning their clothes to feel warm, even though keeping them on would've kept them warm for much longer.

That was the dream. I'm just sharing it here because I wanna know what it meant and because I don't wanna forget it.

Dream about a Mongolian shaman that needed help

Heya, this is a dream from almost 10 years ago but I'll never forget it. I wonder if I should've gone to Mongolia and tried to find some answers?

In the dream I was a small boy on a farm in the afternoon, there was a pheasant that I was playing with. I was sort of chasing it but in a child-like, playful way. I was trying to catch it's pretty tail feathers. The pheasant flew up into a large, old empty barn. I went to follow it in. The barn was dark and the air smelled cool and musty. At the entrance stood a big, grey kangaroo 'spirit'. He stopped, looked at me and then moved out of the way. His large tail sliding across the floor made an echoing sound. I went in and at the back of the barn saw a shaft of sunlight, which I went over to. The pheasant was there but was up on a platform that I couldn't fully reach. It continued to 'play around' as it dangled it's tail feathers just out of my reach. Out of nowhere there was a step I could climb up onto, to get to the pheasant. I got up, and there was a young man sitting with hos legs crossed, tying his long black hair into a bun with the pheasant tail feathers. He was dressed in old clothes like a worn black leather jacket and pants. Somehow I knew he was a mongolian shaman. And it went without question that he'd been travelong as the pheasant. I'd never had any knowledge or interest really in shamanism prior to this. So I don't know why I knew that.

He said he needed to show me something and that he might need help from me.

We sort of 'flew' to a nearby forest. In the forest it was late autumn and most of the leaves had fallen from the trees. Deep in this forest sat an old wooden house, almost falling apart. This house wasn't his house, but his teachers house. The man was a 'trainee shaman'. I went inside and the same man was there in a bath, fully clothed. He was drowning. It was very visceral. Like I was almost in the bath. I could feel him drowning and I could feel the water. For some reason the water was orange.

I looked around and found a cabinet with bottles of orange liquid. Somehow I determined that his teacher was actually the one trying to poison him with this stuff. The teacher was jealous of his student.

I didn't get a chance to tell him about the orange liquid, because I had to go. I don't know why but I felt like I was in a rush. Before I left, I said 'wait! What's your name? So I can help!' And I wrote it down on a piece of paper.

When I woke up, I thought it was such a crazy awesome dream. I could actually remember the name, and copied it down. But now I've lost the paper :(. This was years ago at my mums house in a different part of the country.

Also, on the same day, I walked outside and in the tree out the front there was a pheasant coucal in the tree. I know they're native to the area, but I'd never really seen one before or since then. So that also added to the strangeness of it all.

Heya, this is a dream from almost 10 years ago but I'll never forget it. I wonder if I should've gone to Mongolia and tried to find some answers?

I met an Archangel in my dream that I've never heard of before.

To whoever is reading this: If you notice that my story should've been submitted to another sub-Reddit, please let me know.

If I remember correctly, this happened in September or October of 2020. I came from work exhausted and what supposed to be an afternoon nap turned out to be something bigger and it haunts me to this day, which is why I've decided to write this post 10 months after it occured.

It was some type of a trip and I happened to be in an old medieval Mediterranean town. I was there by myself but not alone as there were many young people around as well. Some were sitting on a concrete block, some were walking or simply standing and chatting. It was a typical summer night tourist attraction with people just roaming around carefree. I walked all the way up the hill where an old church was built and in front of that church some people in groups just looking around appreciating the architecture of the buildings around.

In front of the church there was a priest holding a lecture and presentation across a leather sofa where people were sitting and listening to him talking. At first I was the only one sitting there as he was talking, a few people decided to join me. The priest was presenting something that I can't remember now until he showed a picture of a figure that I've never seen before in my life - the figure with a hood on his head, that is all I can remember. He asked if anybody can recognize this figure and I stood up proudly saying how that is an Archangel Michael, but then quickly correcting myself and saying something what made me realize that this in fact is not Michael.

The priest was laughed warmly and said the name I've never heard before - Azrael. I remember repeating that name in my dream and thinking about it as if I won't remember it because it sounded so strange to my ears. As I looked back to this place where I was sitting, there was a hood waiting for me. A gift for me, what I felt this to be - a hood interwoven with golden and royal blue thread.

Then my body, out of my control was raising my arms up and I couldn't put them back down, that is when I started panicking for a bit. The dream continued but nothing that I can really remember.

I woke up after that strange afternoon nap remembering this Azrael name and then googled it, the results left me speechless and in tears. So if there are any religious/spiritual souls out that to help me interpret this haunting dream, I would be so thankful.

Had a dream about a woman I’ve never met but feel in love with and can’t stop thinking about

I (29F) usually don’t dream much, but last night I had the most vivid dream that I can’t stop thinking about. I was at a small house party, and I walked into a room and a woman was sitting on the couch. We made eye contact, and she immediately challenged me, something like “I bet you can’t...” but I can’t remember what she said. I sat down next to her, I could smell her, see every detail of her summer dress. We were sitting on one of those big leather chesterfields that sticks to your thighs when it’s hot out. We talked for hours and every time someone would look at us we felt obligated to “straighten up” and look platonic even though we were clearly flirting. At one point I think I put my finger in her mouth, just to see what would happen. I remember us exploring each other in very unconventional ways. Eventually we were asked to go outside to do something for the party, take a group photo or something, and I lost her. She was nowhere to be found. She was very similar looking to me, but had a bit of a kinder face and smaller frame.
What does this mean? Why am I so obsessed with her, even when I’m awake, but I can’t identify her?
