What are possible meanings for dreams of desks?
A large or imposing desk can be a symbol of authority. It can be a symbol of your inner authority, especially if you meet an important person in association with the desk. Or it can represent an authority figure or structure.
A work desk can symbolize something related to work life or tasks that need to be done. For example, straightening up a desk can symbolize taking care of loose ends and paying bills. For some people, these small tasks need to be done before a big task is tackled.
Sitting at the desk of another person can indicate lacking trust in your own abilities, or wanting to assume that person’s authority or responsibility—not necessarily take over, though that’s certainly a possibility, too.
A desk can remind you of a person and refer to him or her. It can remind you of a time of life. For example, a school desk can symbolize school life. It can symbolize the feeling of being treated like a kid, or unable to assume an adult role. This use of the symbolism is especially likely if you dream about yourself as a fully grown adult trying to stuff yourself into a small school desk.

I had the most disturbing dream of my life
My childhood cat died very suddenly two weeks ago. She choked due to water in her lungs. We couldn't save her. I remember driving home after my brother called with the intention of saving her, that she wasn't really dead. Her death really messed with me. Words can't express how much I loved her and I can't stop imagining her choking. This dream is very, very disturbing.
Today I took a nap. I woke up after the most disturbing dream of my entire life. I was sitting on the couch and realized my cat's body was next to me, at the exact spot she used to sleep all the time. Not only that, there was two of her. Someone picked one of the two up and took it out of sight. I asked my mom what it was doing there. She told me she took her out of the freezer (we are keeping her body until we can bury it since it's winter) because she missed her too much. My cat then started moving slightly. She started choking. I tried to save her. I started blowing in her mouth to clear her throat and doing the Heimlich method on her. However her body kept slipping out of my hands and falling in weird positions on the couch. She finally stopped choking. She had died again. I called 911 to ask them to come over and make sure she was dead. While I was waiting my whole family started chasing me with knives; even my disabled brother who cannot run and my very old grandma. They pushed me to the ground and started trying to stab me while laughing. I managed to get up and answer the door: the ambulance was here. Two men in a red suit were there. They were the chiefs of ambulances or whatever. They looked at my cat and confirmed she was very, very dead and that her moving was a response from her dead body the the stimuli around her. I thanked them and escorted them to the door. When I came back to the living room my cat was laying the exact same way as she is laying in the picture of her I have on my desk in my dorms. What's really freaking weird to me is that it was only her skeleton, which I found cute in my dream? Then her skeleton started shrinking and I woke up.
I called my mom and started crying while telling her about it. I still feel very weird and needed a place to share.

I’m terrified about what I dreamed about
I had a dream last night that I was in class when a kid I’m friends with walked in with a gun. We all hid under our desks. He stopped by my desks and pointed the gun at me. But somehow (dream logic doesn’t make sense) I made him turn the gun around as he was going to pull the trigger. He shot himself in the face a few times. It was so graphic and vivid. But I WAS THE ONE WHO FORCED HIS HAND AROUND. I’m terrified! What can this mean? I’ve never been in this kind of situation. Also - why this friend specifically? It’s so random and I would never even consider him to do something like this.

I don’t know why I had a dream about the President.
So in my dream I appeared to be at work when President Trump shows up, I am surprised and freaking out because I no clue why he is here and what he wanted. As the dream goes on it turns out he wanted to hangout (still not sure why) so that was most of the dream until he said he was interested in me to be part of secret service or least a personal bodyguard.
I should note the only experience I have is security like my current job just sitting at a desk and doing patrolling, so I don’t know why this came to be because I never thought of it.
After I heard his request I told him that I would after leaving my job and later he went somewhere that I guess involved a disguise or something because the next thing I see is he is wearing glasses and somehow looks like an old woman. Before I could understand why and what was happening other weird things happened that I don’t fully remember then the dream ended.

Visited what I believe was the “other side” when I was seriously considering suicide. Saw recent suicides getting processed, argued about not wanting to continue living, then got kicked out for still...
This was a lucid dream from 2 years ago when I came VERY close to suicide. I’m archiving it here for memories sake. TL/DR at the bottom.
I was having a typical non-lucid dream, and out of nowhere my vision went completely white. A few seconds later I was (now in a lucid dream state) standing in a street in front of a grey brick building. There was a group of people walking in the door, so I followed them in. Inside was a classroom like environment with a large blank screen at the front of the room. It wasn’t spoken, but I just knew these were all people who had taken their own lives.
Everyone sat down at the individual desks filling the room. Everyone looked very sad, most looking down at their feet. Some talked quietly to each other, but I couldn’t understand them. I sat down next to a 20-something girl and looked around the room. After a moment she asked me “So why did you do it?” I responded with “Oh I’m still alive, I’m just able to come here”.
Every person in the room went silent and looked at me with shocked expressions. After getting stared at for a few seconds, I was instantly teleported outside of room and back out into the street where I arrived. This time a giant 7ft tall bald guy was standing in front of the door. He refused to let me back inside, but let everyone else in who approached him.
About this time, a guy walked by me in the street and I asked him “What is this place?” He said something along the lines of “It’s where they (suicides) come to see where their life went wrong, and how their life played out if they stayed”. We chatted for a bit, don’t remember what about. Eventually I asked him why it mattered how we die because eventually we’ll all die anyway. Why does it matter if someone takes their own life?
The man took me back to the open classroom door where I had previously been, and we looked in from the outside. Inside, a young man (20’s) was standing at the front of the room. The screen at the front of the room was showing images of the young guy as a middle aged man. I remember on the screen there were images of him playing with a little girl (presumably his would-have-been daughter), him hugging an older couple (presumably his parents), him smiling and laughing with friends around a table. All the other people in the room sat and watched the screen play in silence. The atmosphere was unbearably depressing.
Eventually me and the guy from the street stepped back and he said something about “So many experiences and lessons wasted because of a temporary problem in one’s life.” He then looked me at me and said something along the lines of “This is where you’re headed. We all have to face our own set of challenges at some point. If not now, then later. Get as much as you can out of your time and avoid the regret.” And with that, I woke up with a different perspective.
TL/DR - Walked into a classroom full of people who had killed themselves, and was kicked out when they found out I was still alive. Talked to a guy in the street about how we all die anyway so what’s it matter. Saw a recent suicide watching a tv screen of his life playing out if he hadn’t killed himself. Was told we all have to go through hardships, it’s part of our growth, and suicide only leads to deep regret.

What does this mean?
First time posting here. I (32 f) am an avid dreamer, yet I have difficulty remembering them unless they're particularly profound to my subconscious. I woke up this morning sweating and terrified and left with questions. Here's the dream:
Working in an office that resembled a place where I no longer work. There were many bad times at this office, so I suppose that's why my brain put me there. I was sitting quietly at my desk and working hard on something, probably a spreadsheet.
Two women I didn't recognize came around and started handing out paychecks; I recall thinking this was odd since I was paid direct deposit by this company. Anyway, they hand out about 4 checks before saying, "That's all we have. We only had enough checks to pay employees whose last names start with letters A - C."
I got upset and started to say something along the lines of, "I'm going to call (boss) and tell him you're not paying the rest of us. This is illegal, you can't just not pay us! I have a kid to feed!"
Response was, in short, "Tough shit."
I rode an elevator down to a parking lot and called this boss guy. He answers the phone and I say, "Mr. Delphi?" (Not my original boss's name)
"Ah, fuck it, call me Tourettes." Definitely *not* my boss's name lol
"Okay, well, it's payday and they're not paying anyone whose last name doesn't start with letters A through C."
Silence then a response, "Haha, that's how it goes. Sucks to be you!"
My alarm went off and I woke up, heart racing and *angry*. This can't just be surface value I'm worried about money, considering I have two jobs and make a decent living. Does anyone have any insight?
Thanks for reading!
