What are possible meanings for dreams of girlfriends?
Girlfriends and ex-girlfriends are common characters in the dreams of their mates and ex-mates. Anything that affects a person deeply will be the subject of dreams, and love and mating are among the most affecting.
As with other dream characters, the place to begin the interpretation process is with discerning whether the character symbolizes something about you, about a person you know, or about an event, situation or circumstance.
Most dream characters are projections of your inner life, so it’s likely that your girlfriend in a dream to show you what’s happening in your thoughts and feelings.
Most dreams can be classified in two general categories: external or internal. If they are about your external life, your girlfriend in your dream represents herself—though remember that the character’s behaviors and characteristics are symbolic. So for example, if you dream about your girlfriend chopping your head off as you sleep, you don’t need to hide the knives. It’s symbolism, perhaps for criticism she directed at you, or an argument.
Internal and external tend to intermix, but it can help you understand a dream to focus more on your thoughts, feelings, and perceptions (inner life), or on recent events or ongoing situations or circumstances (outer life). Carl Jung refers to this differentiation as subjective and objective dreams. Most dreams are subjective at least to some extent, but some are objective looks at your life and the people in it.
This example comes from the dream life of a young man who lives with his girlfriend. They’re both college graduates beginning their careers and working at the bottom of the ladder. He dreams that his girlfriend is at work in a coffee shop, when in reality she works as a freelance writer. Working in a coffee shop is obviously symbolism. In his dream, he visits her at work and discovers that she’s having an affair with a co-corker.
The dream raises his suspicions that his girlfriend really is having an affair, but it’s symbolism for his dedication to his career and concern that while he’s so busy away at work, his relationship with her is suffering. His career is a rival for time and attention he could give to his girlfriend if he had it. The symbolism of the coffee shop is based on the perception that it’s an entry-level job. The girlfriend-character is a projection of the dreamer’s inner life. It only looks like her.
A common source of confusion and difficulty for people new to dream interpretation is seeing yourself in your dream characters, especially when characters depict someone you know. You dream about your girlfriend and automatically assume the dream is about her when really it’s about you, as most dreams are. Everything the girlfriend-character says and does is a projection of your thoughts and feelings.
You can dream about your girlfriend when assessing the prospects of the relationship. Are you compatible? Do you have a future together? Is she “the one”? In general, if your dreams with your girlfriend are pleasant and you get along well, then you can take that as a good sign. Arguing and fighting, on the other hand, is a strong indicator something isn’t right. This is especially true of recurring dreams.
Inability to reach your girlfriend on the phone in a dream can symbolize communication issues. You aren’t explaining yourself well enough, or you want her to understand or know something and she doesn’t “get it.” See: Phones
In dreams about her having your baby, you might be assessing whether she could be a mother for your children or at least the right person to take things to the next level. It can mean you are expectant or excited about something unrelated to having a baby, since pregnant women are said to be “expecting.” Perhaps you’re seeing something new about the relationship coming to life—or something coming to life about yourself inspired by the relationship. For example, maybe her influence is making you more mature or caring.
Dreaming about her wearing your clothes can be a way of saying that she wraps herself in an identity based on being your girlfriend.
Dreams can really play with the idea of “girlfriend” when a character is presented to you as a girlfriend but you don’t have one. It can be a way of saying that something or someone in your life is like a girlfriend. This theme tends to pop up in dreams of people who have a very close female friend and the relationship has the potential to be romantic, or you desire to take that next step with someone you’ve been dating.
It is also possible that a girlfriend-character represents something in your life related to companionship, stability, inspiration, devotion, commitment, romance, or other girlfriend associations. For example, people who are highly devoted to their work are said to be “married to the job.” Marriage is a commitment, and the idea of commitment extends to other committed or close relationships, such as girlfriends and boyfriends.
A job, hobby, or social cause can be portrayed in dreams as a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Has anyone ever laughed themselves awake?
On Saturday night I was laying in bed with my girlfriend and around 4am I laughed myself awake. I don't remember what was so funny in my dream but right after I woke up I was still in a state of almost uncontrollable laughter. It woke me up completely and I was still feeling a strong urge to laugh even though I had no idea what was so funny. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before.

I dreamed about killing and slicing someone limb from limb
Hello guys can someone here can translate a dream? Coz I had a weird dream just right now.
My dream was about my girlfriend telling me that someone that I know harassed her months ago. And I was so mad that she didn't told me this right after the guy did this. After knowing that, I brought a knife and went to the guy's location and kill him. I cut his body parts limb from limb and I was so satisfied on what I'm doing. Im not even scared or anything it's so weird. After killing him, I just leave his body and remove my fingerprints on that particular house. After doing that I realize that the house where I killed him was the apartment that my family we're living 2 years ago and I was shocked when I saw my dad there looking at the window and staring at the body I killed. He's not mad and has no reaction. Also I remember that I wasn't really planning to kill the guy, I just want to cut his arms. When I did cut his arm, I think about that I might go to jail if he survives and tell everyone who did this to him so I just chopped his body. that's when I woke up. Please can someone translate it? I'm so anxious about this and I really have a bad feeling like I'm so nervous when I woke up

I just had a dream that felt years long, and now I don't know whats real.
Sorry for the confusing title but I just woke up and felt like I needed to post this somewhere to see if anyone has ever had a similar experience to this.
Okay, so my dream started out with me meeting a girl. She was amazing, and we had an instant connection. we started dating and went through the normal highs and lows of a relationship, as all couples do. Overall, our relationship was amazing so when we found out she was pregnant, even though we were young we were both so excited to be parents. Her parents lived nearby and offered to let us move in so they could help with the pregnancy and we could both stay in college. The next nine months seemed to fly by, and the pregnancy seemed easier than it should have been. I chalked it up to the fact that my girlfriend was an amazing strong woman and that her parents were there to help us out.
Now this is when things begin to get weird. I don't know why, but i was not with my girlfriend when she was at the hospital giving birth. I had something else to do even though being with her should have been my first priority. After she returned home she called me to let me know we had a son and to come over immediately. It was odd that I wasn't there in the first place, and even odder that even in the dream, I couldn't remember what I had just been doing. It was almost as if I blacked out, and when I came to, I was in the car driving home to see my new son. I shook it off and told myself I was just nervous to be a dad. As I was driving, I suddenly didn't know where I was. I had lived here for 9 months, but for the life of me I couldn't remember how to get home. It felt like I was driving around lost for hours and then, as if I blacked out again, I was outside my house being greeted by my girlfriend' parents as I walked up to the house. The strange thing was that the house didn't seem familiar, and neither did my ggirlfriends parents.
Throughout all of this, I never questioned it and kept telling myself that I was just nervous and I was freaking myself out. Maybe I just needed to sit down for a minute and breath. I never even made it to the house, I just sat down on the steps leading up to the door and tried to calm myself down. I pulled out my phone and had a text message from an unknown number. I assumed it was a text from someone congratulating me and my ggirlfriend but when I opened it, it was just an image of three 20 something year old boys who I had never seen. I was confused, but something about the picture seemed oddly familiar, so I just sat there and stared at it. As I sat on the porch staring at the photo the world went silent. I never heard a baby crying and never once did anyone try to retrieve me from outside to bring me in. It was almost as if everything in the world disappeared besides me and that photo.
I must have spent days staring at that picture, and finally I decided to text the number back and ask who they were and why they sent me that photo. I wrote out the text and hit send and suddenly the picture went blurry. I looked around and nothing in the world seemed real anymore. Nothing seemed familiar. I felt like I was in a place I had never seen before. I looked back down at my phone and the blurriness of the photo began to clear up and I was left looking at a photo of me, my real-life brother, and my real-life best friend, standing in my real-life backyard. I stopped for a second, coming to the realization that everything was over. I immediately tried to run into the house to see my son but the second I opened the door to the house, I woke up.
My first instinct when I woke up was the check my phone for the photo but of course it wasn't there. The only thing on my phone was a text from my real ggirlfriend he weird thing is, I can no longer picture my dream ggirlfriends face, so for all I know, it could have been my real ggirlfriend As I finish writing this, the dream is beginning to fade, and I can realize all the things that didn't make sense, but while I was in it, I would have bet anything it was real. I feel as if I just got a few years of my life back, as I woke up the same 22-year-old who went to bed the night bore.
My only regret? I never got to see my son.

I had a dream about sucking my female best friend off.
Sooo, first of all excuse my English it is my second language.
I am 21yo male and am a little bi-curious (Full gay for Ed Westwick tho). So last night after me and my girlfriend went to sleep, I had a dream about my female best friend having a dick, and me sucking it for about 30mins. All this was happening and we talked causal about it after that (still in the dream). I don't know what the hell my brain is doing and I am meeting her (the best friend) in an hour. I am not sure wheter to tell her about this or no. I am writing this here to get it off my chest cause I can't really talk to anybody about it. To clarify, my female best friend does not have a dick. :D

My best friend (f) shot me (m) and I don't know what it means?
Ok so I (m) have a female best friend. We have been friends for over 10 years with about a 4 year spread of little contact when she moved across the country.
She moved back 2 years ago and we have started to fall back to the friendship we had before she moved away.
Anyway last night I had an extremely vivid dream. I was at my mother's house for a cookout. Spring/summertime and there were several people there. My mom, her husband my two brothers myself my current girlfriend and several people that I don't think I actually know, just fillers I suppose. I also wanna preface that I don't dream often (atleast don't remember them) but when I do I remember I usually remember the beginning like waking up that day in my dream. But with this one it was like my consciousness was pushed in my body in the middle of the cookout.
So back to what's going on. So when I became conscious in the dream i remember thinking "how did I get here? I don't remember being here just a few minutes ago" and then my friends car pulled in the driveway. When she got out of the car she was visibly upset. I got up from my seat to greet her and noticed she was upset. I asked her what was wrong and she broke down and started crying. Then she produced a pistol from her purse and shot me twice in the chest.
I was stunned at first not realizing what happened. Then I felt the burn of the gunshot wounds, the warmth of my blood leak from chest. Then I fell over. I felt the cool damp grass on my face and the warmth of my blood on my torso. I remember feeling my energy drain from my body and then I took my last breath. When I died in the dream I woke up but it wasn't sudden or a jerk to being awake. It was like waking up any other day. But I had to feel my chest to make sure I wasn't shot. It was very vivid and I remember it so clearly.
What bugs me is that we have not argued or been in a fight or anything recently. Can you guys give some guidance?
