What are possible meanings for dreams of rage?

Dreams create scenarios that trigger emotions. If you dream about being in a rage, it’s a strong indicator that you feel really strongly or are really angry about something. Whatever triggers the rage in the dream symbolizes something in your life. The entry for Anger goes into more depth about decoding the symbolism.

For example, a man dreams about being back in high school and being told he won’t graduate, triggering his rage. He throws desks and stalks off to the counselor’s office. In reality, he graduated four years before the dream. His reaction of flying into a rage is disproportionate to the situation and indicates a deeper layer of meaning. The dream is actually about having graduated and four years later finding he’s going nowhere in his life. High school is supposed to be preparation for adult life, so failing to graduate really means he fears he’ll get nowhere in his life. And that’s what triggers his rage. See: Teacher

A dream about flying into a rage after a lover spills a drink on the mattress while having sex connects with the dreamer’s fears about getting pregnant. Expressing rage under the circumstances stands out as symbolism because it’s an overreaction, a clue that the spilled drink (spilled semen) symbolizes something about which the dreamer feels really strongly (accidentally getting pregnant).

How I finally beat the "being chased" dream

Like many people I had the recurring dream of being chased by a dark figure, it was a shadow in a trench coat, no facial features just shadow. I began having the dream when I was in elementary school and had it until just less than a year ago. It always went the same, I was running through my house, or my high school or my hometown and he was always right behind, the dream would either end with me falling off a building or bridge or him getting right up to me and reaching out with a shadowy claw and me waking up screaming.

Well I reached a low point in my life, had broken up with my girlfriend and just had a lot going on at work and school. I was fed up with life in general (NOT suicidal, just to the point I had very few "F's" left to give). Had an especially bad day and went to bed, the "dark figure" dream started, but instead of being terrified as I always had been before, I just got fighting mad. I was done with it! If he was going to kill me then so be it, but I was going to give him one hell of a fight! I remembering turning toward him and charging full bore right into him, all fear was gone there was only utter rage, I wanted to rip him limb from limb. I had the general dream sensation of wrestling around...and realized I wasn't hurting him....but he wasn't hurting me either, he was slashing me with shadowy claws but I felt absolutely no pain. Then I remember staring him right in the shadowy void that should have been his face and just laughing, laughing harder than I had ever laughed. I woke up laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face. But the thing is I felt much better. Not only about the dream but life in general, my mood had improved a hundred fold. I felt ready to take on the world!

After that the dark figure made a several more appearances, but the terror was gone, I might feel a tinge of fear when he first appeared, but I would quickly get over it and stand my ground and think "you ready for round 2 buddy? I know you can't do a damn thing to me" and he would fade away.

3 Headed Snake defends itself.

Last night I had a very strange dream that I will pit into three smaller sections and a question at the end.

The dream started with me and my uncle in a dark room watching a small old tv. There were 3 “episodes” of videos we were watching. The first one and the third one were very short and boring and I couldn’t find any interest in them. But after we watched all of them I asked to watch the 2nd one again to my uncle and he said sure, so we watched it, not once but around 7 times over and on the 8th I get swirled into it.

In closet I was with my brother and for some reason we were staring at the back of the closet wall behind a bunch of clothing. He keeps trying to push me into closing my eyes which was meditating in my subconscious mind. I kept pushing back thinking he was tricking me into doing an incense drug for some reason. Finally I just gave up and said fuck it. I closed my eyes and swirled again.

Now I was in a tropical paradise area which a kinda like the stones you would see on the side of a pool but no pool. There was a wall of bushes, potted plant and a pool chair though, a building was behind me but it was very blurry. I went to sit on that pool chair but my brother appears next to me and says “wait”. I look back on the chair and there’s a three headed snake, I start to back away instantly like I’m sorry. My brother swoops in and picks up the snake, for some reason it has one head when he picks it up, he hold it’s like a baby seeming to bring it to the bush but half way he grabs it as hard as he can and throws it onto the ground. He starts laughing and I’m in shock, I go to lean down and try to help it thinking of getting bandages, it’s squished in the center and whimpering, I go to pick it up and help it and it attack’s me, it keeps trying to bite me until it does on the leg, 3 heads again. After that I wake up, I don’t know if that’s what woke me up or if I woke up naturally as I’d usually wake up earlier than I did.

I was never afraid of the snake, I was surprised when I saw it, sad and shocked when my brother threw it and got sadder when it started attacking me because I knew it was just defending itself. I’ve never had a dream so clear and can remember it so we, if any of you have any idea what it means I’d love to hear. If you have any questions of this weird ass rollercoaster of a story I’ll answer.

Thanks for reading!

Dreamt about an earthquake right before it hit.

Interesting dream I had this morning.

I was in some sort of communication with a female deity, she asked me to give her "holy gifts" so to speak. I'm not quite sure about what I gave her but there was another man there who told me the gifts weren't good and that I would now face her wrath(weird translation but she said it in Croatian so I don't know how else to say it), after which I saw her above me and she was really angry. Now this is the weird part that I'm unsure of. It felt so surreal, I was laying in my bed and the ground started shaking. I didn't even dare to open my eyes and look around the room, it was like I felt an overwhelming presence behind me that struck fear into my bones.

After the "shaking" had ended I took my phone and went online to search if there was an earthquake, and indeed, there was one in my country but nowhere near me, definitely not near enough for me to feel that kind of shaking, it was shaking so hard, everything would've probably fallen over if it was real. After that, I went to ask my family and they hadn't felt a single thing, even asked my friend online and he didn't feel anything either.

So basically, I'm really confused, I felt an earthquake that I shouldn't have felt, and I know it was a dream, but even with that said, my dream almost perfectly corresponded to the actual earthquake.

Fun times, any ideas about this?

Worst nightmare in years. I’m shaking.

It’s just before 6am where I live and I’m shook. Cannot go back to sleep. Fuzzy now in the details, but the horrors are stuck with me.

I’m on a plane with my dad, a stranger, and her young daughter maybe about 4. The pilot is having trouble landing. Outside the world is colored like an 80s vaperwave video with jagged mountains and swirling fog. The woman is behind me, holding her child up to the window when the plane takes a deep dip and the window flies open. The little girl is essentially ripped apart while the woman screams, clinging to bloody bits of her kid while the rest is carried out of the plane. Just gore.

Fast forward a little bit of anxious flying around, woman wailing in the background, and we manage to land. We’re in my parents’ house. The woman and pilot have left somehow, it’s fuzzy. There’s another kid here now (maybe the same kid?) and it’s just me, her, and dad. Dad is in good spirits.

He tells me that he’s moving out of the house, implying that he and my mother are divorcing. This initially surprises me but in my dream state I kind of just roll with it, telling myself that it must’ve slipped my mind. Dad asks me if I’ll go shopping for new home decor with him, which I took as a sweet gesture. I tell him of course I will.

He has to go to his car for something, and he’s still joking about his terrible decorating skills as he swings open the front door. Intense panic when I see two armed men standing right outside; they immediately raise their guns to point at dad and I. I don’t think I’ve ever been more afraid in my life. I think I want to scream but can only gasp “oh my god,” and move in front of the little girl who is still here for some reason. The men let themselves in through the open door. One has some kind of long gun and the other is carrying a pistol.

“One of you needs to go get all of the jewelry right now,” long gun guy says. Dad scrambles up the stairs, practically on all fours, the men keep their weapons on me and the kid. “Keep your hands where I can see them. Is anyone else here?”

I shake my head furiously. I want to cry, I’m so scared. Dad returns from upstairs and approaches them. Before I realize what’s happened he’s pulled out a pistol and has it against long arms guys head. Pistol guy quickly shoots my dad in the skull and he collapses on the floor. Last thing I remember before I wake up is the blood trickling down his face. He is most certainly dead.

This is the scariest part - I’m half awake now and I realize that I’ve just had a nightmare. My eyes crack open. In a daze, I think I see a shadow from behind me on the wall before me, shifting out of the light. At the same time I hear the unmistakable sound of a sliding glass door closing. Panic again - there’s someone in my house. It takes a moment for me to remember where I am, and that I don’t have a sliding glass door here. Still, I’m completely paralyzed with fear for another minute.

Finally managed to pull myself out of bed and went around checking all my locks. Now I’m scared to go back to sleep. It’s moments like these that I wish I didn’t live alone. I’m having a drink at dawn today.
