Return to the feelings

Our emotions in dreams can help us understand its meaning. Pay attention to how you felt in the dream. Pay attention to how you feel about doctors in dreams. See how you feel about doctors now, in your waking life.

What are possible meanings for dreams of doctors?

A doctor-character in a dream can be used to deliver information about your physical health. The body has a monitoring system that uses dreams to communicate, and a doctor is a natural choice to deliver its information.

When you have been ill or your health has been on your mind and you dream about a doctor, there’s a good possibility these things are related, especially if the doctor examines you or gives advice. But think beyond physical health to consider mental and emotional health and other areas of life described in terms of health, such as sexual, financial, and familial.

A doctor in a dream can be associated with healing—any sort of healing. Healing your body, your mind, your emotions, your life, a relationship, the past.

A doctor-character can speak to issues related to the health of someone (or something) close to you. Differentiating can be tricky. Dreams can refer to someone else when they actually mean you. Before telling your friend about a dream you had related to his or her health, make sure the dream isn’t referring to something about you.

For example, a doctor tells you in a dream that your best friend is going to die. Naturally, that sparks concern for your friend, but the dream actually refers to the health of the relationship. You have been too busy lately to maintain it and it’s in danger of losing its depth.

Another possibility to consider is that a doctor symbolizes looking for the cure to a problem or situation. You need answers, advice, or perspective. For example, you dream that a doctor gives you a prescription for a gardening hoe and pruning shears, and you connect that with the idea that working in a garden is good for stress relief—and boy, have you been stressed! Or you have been in a rut lately and dream about seeing a foreign doctor, which connects with the idea of doing something different (“foreign”) as the cure for your rut.

Because doctors ask deeply personal questions, they can be used in dreams to symbolize the feeling of having your privacy invaded, being forced to talk about something you’d rather not talk about, or revealing something private or hidden. See: Hiding

For example, an ex-mate from years ago calls out of the blue, and your current mate answers the phone. It leads to having a long and deep conversation about your ex, a subject you’d rather avoid, but you have no choice. Or you face uncomfortable questions during a job interview. You are examined in a personal way, and your dream portrays the situation as examination in a physical way.

Dreaming about playing the role of doctor can mean that you take responsibility for your own health. The idea also applies when you take responsibility for other people’s health. Because of the wealth of health information available on the internet, anyone can play the role of doctor or diagnostician.

Some general associations with doctors that can be used as symbolism are that they command respect, work hard, prepare extensively, and are well compensated and widely admired. And they’re commonly perceived as a good catch as a mate.

A doctor can represent your ability to offer healing, support, or advice. It can mean you fix a situation or diagnose a problem.

A doctor can symbolize someone who listens to you—or conversely, doesn’t listen to you.

Some people avoid doctors, and for them a doctor can symbolize the plague.

You can tell by your reaction if the symbolism ties in with something felt strongly. For example, you dream about suddenly finding yourself in a doctor’s office and you run away. Question is, what are you avoiding? What subject makes you want to turn and run?

The type of doctor can have specific symbolism. For a broken heart you see a cardiologist. To treat pessimism you could see an oncologist, because pessimism is like a cancer. To give birth to an idea, you could dream about an obstetrician. To see inside yourself, you could dream about a radiologist. To understand what’s going on in your mind, you could dream about a psychiatrist. For a sexual-related issue, a dream can use a gynecologist. To remove something unwanted, like a bad character trait, a person could dream about a surgeon.

Because doctors are fixers, a dream featuring a doctor could be about fixing or patching up something. For example, you dream about seeing a doctor with your spouse after having a rift, and the doctor recommends speech therapy, meaning improve the way you communicate with each other. Of course, this use of the symbolism will show in the dream-story; otherwise, the symbolism means something else.

I met the Devil??

Hi All, please help me interpret this dream because I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what this means. For context, I'm 24f. just lost a job because it wasn't in my field at all, and earlier this year I found out my ex cheated on me. As a hopeless romantic I was just devastated because I thought he was The One.

Let me tell you the story.

So it started off in a warehouse/flat situation where everyone was just hanging out, and I assume it was a sort of medical centre for crackheads too since we'd have a couple come over and some doctors would take them in. Then I eventually decided to follow my friend's sister and mum to the beach outside (think southend-on-sea but barren and with seating areas like in The Minnack Theatre in Cornwall).

We settled on the beach and sat around for a while until two of my friends came over, and we started talking about the Devil being on the top floor of this specific skyscraper, and how he tells you your future. Bear in mind that I didn't see skyscrapers surrounding the beach until they said this, and there was a specific black one which tbh looked pretty cool. So one by one everyone at the beach went to go see him, even my friends, and by the end of the day it was my turn.

My friend showed me the way into the building, but couldn't go up with me since the elevator warning said it was only for one person. As I went up, the elevator started getting smaller and smaller until I was compact. Then it turned out that there were some renovations going on on the top floor, and I was stuck for a little bit until this old couple pulled apart the elevator and got me out.

So, it was time to see the Devil. I started walking around the floor a little bit, it looked like a standard office building, walls were all white and there were accents of wood, loads of meeting rooms too. I found the room where the Devil, as it was the only room occupied, the door was wide open and it was lit with shades of purple, green, and black. So I walk in expecting to see him, but it looked like some generic-ass dude with a flarey costume and a skull mask, which was very underwhelming as you can tell. He explained the rules of visiting him to me, I

had to come up with a question like everyone else did and he would show me an answer/my future. I spent a lot of time at the beach wondering if I should ask about my career or my love life, I'm extremely indecisive and ended up choosing the latter last minute, maybe because I thought it was more important to me (dumb, I know, I should've picked career). He said that's fine, the question can be about anything I want and gestured at this little mountain in front of him. It was like a greyish purple colour and looked like dried lava, and it has a button that you pull out, which I assume is like a pull up to show you your future. He told me to pull the button and I did.

And then I woke up.

and now I'm so frustrated because I'll never know the answer, but also curious. I'm not majorly into dream interpretation, I used to do it a bit more in my teen years or only if a dream freaks me out and I wanna know what it means. But I cannot interpret this at all. Please help, lol.

P.S. I wasn't feeling particularly scared throughout this dream, I was pretty calm the whole time, I kind of thought of it as visiting a funfair attraction. There was a bit of anticipation when going up the lift, but otherwise I was carefree the whole time.

Thanks for reading!

Weird dream, please help interpret!!

Hey everyone! I was hoping for some help interpreting a weird dream I had last night...

My dream started out at a university, I was in a office area with many cubicles. I was introduced to an attractive doctor and was talking for a bit. I then was introduced to his twin brother whom is also a doctor and we hit it off. The other twin seemed more personable and very intelligent. I found he spoke Spanish and we have a lot in common. The other twin and I fell in love and start to date. My dream then moves to my house except everything looks bigger. The twin I am in love with is in a cult? of Satan and they are having a ceremony in my house in the basement at the base of the stairs... the twin and others are going to be joined to the cult by drinking from a caldron of liquid in the basement. There are hooded people everywhere. The twin and the others joining the cult are at the top of the stairs lined up and I am begging him not to do it because he could not handle it and he will turn evil and that I will go instead of him. The others have already made it down the stairs and I have managed to prevent him from drinking from the cauldron. Then some invisible force pulls me down the stairs and I am forced to take my loves place in line to drink from the cauldron. As I am waiting I see Satan sitting on his thrown and one of the hooded people make it known that I am to be his wife. (I don’t want to be... I want to marry my boyfriend) then it is my turn to drink from the cauldron, you must drink a certain amount measured by a chalice or else the ritual is not complete.. I drank a bit from the chalice and then accidentally dropped the chalice into a fire pit. I then had to drink from the cauldron itself in finish the ceremony. Of course I didn’t know exactly how much to drink, so I had to drink a lot of it to ensure this would be over. As I drank from the cauldron something in my head said to me that this will give you knowledge, intelligence and power. My dream then moved to a dorm bedroom like area where I am trying to tell my boyfriend about how I was to be Satan’s wife and that we had to get married to prevent this. Unfortunately, a teacher ( who is wearing a cloak) walks in and interrupts our conversation and I didn’t get to tell my boyfriend.

Some backstory:
I am not in university currently but was thinking of going back.
I am in the healthcare field
I do not speak Spanish

Help??

Help??

So I don’t know if this is the right place for this but I’m going to give it a go...
Since I was young, as far back as I can remember, I have had this ‘dream’ the only thing is, it has been the same ‘dream’ and I’m not asleep when it happens.
I know this sounds ridiculous but if I lie quietly and am in the right head space, I become a hair on my head initially and then, well I can see me. From above.
There’s more to it and if I maintain the same sort of state of mind, I can progress in the ‘dream’ to watching over me.
I know this sounds crazy and I have been to see my doctor more than once and they’ve insisted I am asleep but the thing is I am definitely not!
I can’t always force the ‘dream’ (I don’t know what else to call it) but sometimes I can and other times it just happens.
There is more to it but I’m trying to keep it brief.

If anyone can help me either stop or explain what the hell is going on, I’d be so grateful.
It’s driving me crazy.

I’m 43 so this has been going on for decades and I’m not sure what to make of it.
There’s no pattern to it. It’s not stress. Or lack of sleep. I sleep ok. It’s PRIOR to sleep. I am not asleep when this happens.

Help??

So I don’t know if this is the right place for this but I’m going to give it a go...

Horrible Dream About Teeth Falling Out - Help?

It was Halloween and the dream. I was just out for a night time walk and tge moon was full. It was huge too. Took up way more of the sky than it should. And I found a mask on the ground, a white mask. I don't really remember much details about the masks, just that it had these painted red lips on it. It looked vaguely like the face of a china doll.

I picked it up and I ran over to this girl with long blonde hair and I asked if the mask belongs to her. She said she had no idea who it belongs to that she thought the mask meant something bad. Like there was someone here who was supposed to be here.

The girl was carrying a black pillow case that I think was full of candy or something. Anyway, we were walking around trying to see who the mask belongs to and coming up blank. There was a boy with a buzz cut with us as well. I think we were part of some kind of unisex Scout Troop.

Anyway we walked by this big white house and I somehow get separated from both of them. And then I feel something in my mouth and it's my retainer. I have not needed to wear a retainer for several years. For some reason it's really uncomfortable so I try to take it out by poking at it with my tongue.

My retainer pops out and to my horror take several of the teeth on the bottom row of my mouth with it. I freak the fuck out and I try to shove them back into place repeatedly. But then one of them starts falling apart in my hands and I'm just standing there with a bunch of bloody teeth in my hands trying to frantically jam them back into the little teeth holes that they got yanked out of.

Some of them stay in place and for that I'm grateful. But my mouth really hurts and there's blood everywhere. Then the blonde girl from earlier walks by and she says to me, "Hey what's wro - OH MY GOD!" And start screaming when she sees in my hands and the blood running down my chin. I'm babbling and I'm trying to explain what happened and say that I need to get to a doctor but then all of my talking ends up pulling out the teeth that I was able to put back in. And my head is spinning my mind is racing and I'm just thinking to myself, "It's not happening, it's not happening, it's not happening this is too horrible" and then I woke up.

It was Halloween and the dream. I was just out for a night time walk and tge moon was full. It was huge too. Took up way more of the sky than it should. And I...
