What are possible meanings for dreams of hanging?
The most common use of hanging symbolism, as in hanging from a rope, is to symbolize when something isn’t getting through to the head. Hanging cuts off blood circulation to the head and airflow, and dreams can use it as symbolism for when someone doesn’t want to listen or think about something, or isn’t getting the message.
For example, a young man dreams that his mom hangs herself in the basement, symbolizing that he is secretly doing something illegal that he knows she disagrees with but he’s doing it anyway. The message isn’t getting through to his head.
The tricky part to understanding dream imagery like this is to recognize that the imagery of mom hanging is related to the dreamer, not to her. Mom is a projection, not a direct representation of the actual person. She is not the one about to throw her life. The next scene of the dream gives away the meaning. After the dreamer sees his mom hanging, he runs away to get help, and when he comes back she’s not hanging. She’s standing and fine, showing that the dream is not about her, it’s about him.
Hanging by the neck can symbolize a blockage between the desires of the head and heart, or ignoring signals from the body, or wishing to ignore something.
Hanging can mean “hanging by a thread.” A situation is precarious or difficult. You are barely holding on. For example, you are close to failing a class, or a relationship is close to ending. See: Cliffs
Also consider the idea of being “left hanging.” For example, you send an email or text message to someone and don’t get a reply. Or you’re at a meeting and expect support from someone but she doesn’t give it.
A noose in a dream can symbolize constriction, such as when a situation feels constricting, your options are limited, or a deadline looms. See: Strangling
When associated with death, a noose can symbolize “rope to hang yourself with,” meaning a big screw-up. When associated with execution, a noose can symbolize the end of something or fear of consequence. Death in dreams has associations with major changes in a person or his life. Suicide in dreams can symbolize the idea in the phrase “kill your chances.”
Dreams can use the imagery of hanging to symbolize a physical condition such as your airway being blocked as you sleep.

Sexual moment with my girlfriend became an incestuous moment.
I'll try not to be super graphic.
In the dream, I entered a room I don't recognize and my girlfriend was sitting on a couch. It was 100% her, I remember it distinctly.
I stood behind her, pressing against the back of the couch with my legs. I was rubbing her head and running my hands through her hair. I leaned down, she leaned back, and we began kissing. Eventually she put her hands up and behind her and started to undo my belt.
Yadda yadda yadda, to sum up, the experience ended with her hanging her head over the back of the couch, we had oral sex in that position, and I finished all over her face.
At that moment, people I don't know in real life entered the room and saw what had happened. They immediately freaked out, called us disgusting, made comments, etc.
This eventually swelled into being accused of incest, because in reality, the person on the couch was my sister.
In real life, I have no sister. She passed away over 10 years ago. But being labeled as an incestuous person carried throughout the entirety of the dream. People at my work found out and I was shunned. My colleagues and students made my life hell. The dream kind of mixed together the next few days, and I remember nothing but misery.
Weirdly enough, the girlfriend (who exists in real life, I live with her and see her every day) or sister (who doesn't exist on real life anymore) was nowhere to be seen or heard from throughout the rest of the dream.
The experience destroyed my life. I even woke up feeling some weird sense of shame before I shook it off.
I'll try not to be super graphic.

Just had probably the most oddly disturbing nightmare ever
So it was a pretty normal dream, taking place in my hometown in present time. I was walking home like any other school day, but something was off. There were weird things around, like certain roads that weren't supposed to be where they were, and most notably, a Sakura (cherry blossom) tree outside of a house I always walk by that doesn't have a tree in front of it. I didn't notice it though, cause it was a dream. Anyway, I must've taken some kind of detour, because I ended up in a field, that's usually on the other side of my neighborhood. This is where the weird shit goes down. So throughout the dream I was occasionally seeing this (yes it's hilarious thinking about it) really off-putting man in a banana costume, hiding in weird places (now that I think about it, only the ones that were out of place). He had a new expression each time, and he looked more and more deranged as time went on. So when I reached the field, the sky had already turned dark, so It was night time. The field is surrounded by houses (it's in the middle of the suburbs), and the playground that's usually there is no longer present. All that was there was the washrooms, in a building in the center of the field. I don't know why, maybe to hide from the banana guy (I was starting to get the idea that he was following me). I walked in, and went to wash my hands, when to my left, out of the corner of my eye, I saw him. He was laying limp on the toilet in the stall across the floor, with his head hanging in front of him. He had the most deranged and twisted face I'd ever seen, and he slowly turned his head to look at me. In classic SCP-173 fashion, I tried not to break eye contact, but I couldn't look at it for much longer because I felt like I was going insane. Making sure not to make any sudden movements, I slowly began walking towards the door. The banana man (stop laughing) was starting to half cry half laugh, slowly getting louder and louder. He was no longer in my line of sight, and I felt like any second he could've just gotten up and started chasing me. I felt SO threatened. Terrified, I started to crack the door open, and I was sure that he was going to run up behind me at any moment, but he didn't. He just sat there. Once the door was halfway open, I flung it the rest of the way open, and made a break for it. It was pitch black out, and I was alone. I was too scared even to scream for help, so I just kept running. The laugh/crying transitioned into angry screaming, still laughing all the same. I didn't look back to see if he was giving chase, because that would've slowed me down. The houses around the field were gone. All that was left was an endless open field. I stopped running and turned around, to find that the screaming was gone. Still, I felt no less afraid. All of a sudden, I heard footsteps behind me, and I turned around again, but nothing was there. The screams were coming back. I fell to my knees, panicked to the point where I couldn't keep running. The screaming faded in quickly to the point where it was deafeningly loud, and I started screaming too. That was when I woke up.
Bananas freak me out now. Thanks, brain.

Had a dream when I was 10 with a girl I didn’t know in it. We’re dating now.
I’ll try to keep this as short as possible, I have ADHD and my stories turn into ramblings most of the time.
Anyways.
When I was about 10 or so, I had this dream where me and this random girl were playing and just having fun doing kid stuff. Suddenly I got the urge to tell her “this is a dream, and I can leave whenever I want to. Isn’t that cool?”
She replied with something like “I know.”
So I said “watch this” and in the dream, I closed my eyes and opened them and I was awake (in real life).
Didn’t think much of it.
Come this past June, I was in a town about 4 hours from the one I live in, getting my drivers license photo and all that done since COVID restrictions took them out of my town.
I walked out of the DMV there, and a girl is walking her dog. The dog peed on my moms car door, and she apologized.
We talked for a bit and she asked me for my Snapchat so we could talk some more, which was a first for me since I’m a solid 3/10.
Flash forward a few days later, we’ve been talking, we like each other, decide to hang out in person. She makes the drive up to my town to spend the night.
We spent most of the night just talking about random childhood stories, and I went a grabbed my 3rd grade school picture. Then she told me she had a dream when she was younger about how she was hang out with a boy, then he said “this is a dream” and left.
She pointed out how younger me looked almost like the kid she had a dream about those years ago.
Well I told her my story of the similar incident, and we concluded we were destined to meet.
I think we both are in agreement that it’s just a scary coincidence, but we both also feel very twilight-zone-y about it now and we aren’t sure if it is a coincidence or some weird fate stuff.
Life is weird, kiddos.

I dreamt what happens after I died
This has never happened to me before and its kind of freaking me out. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this before because nobody in my circles that I asked ever had.
This is the dream:
This was a few nights ago and im still fucked about it.
I was at my childhood home, my parents were really old and frail (75/80’s, they’re actually in their 40’s irl) I felt like i was 24/25 (Im 19). The tv was on and I was cleaning not paying attention when the tv had a really loud alarm. The news guy said that america has fallen and showed huge street fights with fire everywhere and people getting shot and falling by the hundreds. The same dude came back on with another alert and said that the outsider countries that were waiting to attack have just declared war too. The phone rang and I watched my younger brother (18) answer it and hang up. I couldn’t hear him or anything else. He didnt say anything but him and my other brother (17) went upstairs, got a bag and left the house. I knew they got drafted to fight and I knew they didnt say anything bc they weren’t going to come back. My dad got up and hobbled to the door and said he had to protect the family, but I knew he didn’t want to go. He was doing it out of duty, and everyone knew he was too old he would die for certain. My mom was crying and so was my little sister (9) and so was I. Then there was another emergency alarm on the tv to immediately get underground and put something between your teeth and bite down, North Korea was coming. I got my family to go the basement and I was coming behind them, still upstairs when I looked out the window and saw a blinding white light growing and I knew I was going to die right then and I had this huge feeling that I had let it get to that point. It was MY fault that it did.
The light became everything and then it became all dark and my eyes adjusted to see that I was in a moving hallway of sorts. It in space, made out of space, and I could see outside of the area but I was confined to the inside. It was like a black space snake and I was inside riding it like a train. Some of the space scales of the snake worked as doors and I could go into points of time in the future/past, of my life which was a tiny section of it overall and in general too. I looked inside one room but I didn’t go in. It was just trees in a swamp. I opened this other door that had a vibe™️ to it and instantly I was met with this warm yellow glowing light that filled the entire room (which had no walls, it was just the light) and it had the MOST loving feeling ever. It felt like the ultimate motherly warm love ever and I could just melt into it and be happy and safe forever and I was about to step in when the light shifted and formed the face of a lady. The lady opened her eyes and looked directly dead in my eyes and without opening her mouth or anything she said loud and clear: Speak. The sound was in my body and everywhere at the same time.
And then I woke up. And I remained fucked up because I’ve never died in a dream and continued dreaming ever before.
Also my interpretation of the dream was: i have to speak on what ive been meaning and KNOW i need to speak on in order to not let bad things happen. Im trying to write a book and Ive been too scared to start.
This has never happened to me before and its kind of freaking me out. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this before because nobody in my circles that...

Need help about strange figure
So this just happened this morning, in the witching hour. I honestly can’t tell if it was a dream but it seemed way too real. By the way sorry if this is choppy and jumbled, I’m still freaking out and trying to think about all possibilities at once. I woke up and looked towards my bathroom which I always keep the door open, and standing in the doorway is a tall figure dressed in black but has a feathered mask on with what looks like a beak, but it looks funny. It also had a gloved hand that seemed like it was trying to point at me but it couldn’t? I felt like I couldn’t move but I could move my head, and when I looked away I immediately looked towards my closet where I have a jacket hanging, has been there months and never made anything out of it before with my imagination, another figure was looking towards me. I even tried to look down and it looked like the blanket was moving. When I finally felt like I could sit up I looked at the time and it was 3:40. Is there anyone that can help me figure out what happened or is this paranormal?
