What are possible meanings for dreams of kidnapping?
To be kidnapped in a dream can symbolize being forced to do or accept something against your will. Dreams exaggerate, so the situation symbolized as kidnapping is not necessarily coercive or forceful. For examples, see: Father, Husband.
Kidnapping can capture the feeling of being the victim of circumstances or events. It can mean something is going wrong and you can’t do anything to stop it. For example, you are powerless to stop bad decisions being made at work. Or a friend is involved romantically with a person you think is wrong, but the friend is hopelessly in love and doesn’t want to hear your opinion.
Kidnapped in a dream can mean “held hostage.” See: Hostages
The symbolism of kidnapping can derive from the stress of the event. A dream uses it to compare to an event or situation that is stressful or adrenaline-filled. It can even relate to difficulty falling asleep, as if your ability to shut down your thoughts has been taken.
The presumed character of a kidnapper is an association used to create symbolism. Kidnapping is a heinous crime, and kidnappers rank low in society along with rapists and child abusers. When used as symbolism in a dream, it can mean you have a very low opinion of someone or yourself.
Kidnapping can have symbolism related to the root word, “kid.” It can refer to the feeling of having your childhood stolen from you. This theme is common in the dreams of high-achievers who were not allowed to be kids. It’s also common in the dreams of people who were abused or neglected as children.
If your child is kidnapped in a dream, it can mean you are concerned for his or her welfare. For example, if your child suddenly starts acting out of character, it can seem as if the child you know has been taken from you. Or perhaps you are worried about the care your child is receiving when you aren’t around, such as at day care or school.
For example, a mother dreams that she’s at her child’s day-care center, and a voice comes on the loudspeaker warning that children are being kidnapped. She then sees a shady man trying to abduct her child. It symbolizes the uneasy feeling she has about the day care.
Parents of young children are known to dream frequently about danger to their children, in what are generally classified as anxiety dreams. They’re generally not an indication of imminent danger to the child but instead reflect a parent’s need to be constantly vigilant. See: Anxiety
Dreaming about an important person in your life being kidnapped might symbolize the perception that the person is being unfairly taken from you. For example, your wife is going on another business trip, “kidnapped” by her job, or your husband is being deployed in the military and it means a long period of separation. The idea extends to something that changes the personality of someone close to you, such as when the person is drunk or stressed. The usual personality is replaced.
Kidnapping can symbolize a situation where forces from deep within the psyche force your life in another direction. See: Ufos

I (25f) dreamt that I was being raped, but kinda liked it?
I am sorry if this doesn’t fit here but I did not know where else to ask.
So I have never had such dream, about rape, that’s why I am asking here. The person, I didn’t see their face, was a middle aged man.
He abducted me and would do it every other day and I was trying to find a way out. Then one day I did escape but I found myself again in a bathroom being raped (and enjoying it) but this time I was actually raping myself? Like I had a penis? What could that mean?
I am sorry if this doesn’t fit here but I did not know where else to ask.

||SUPER WEIRD DREAM||... how and why do we dream what we dream?
So this dream took place in some type of project homes and in it, It was pretty run down with Mexican and black people living there. The first time I was there in the dream I witnessed a woman scalping a child’s head with a carrot peeler. And I was disgusted and just in shock, as I walked away they looked at me asking what? As if it was normal. And I stated what she was doing and she answered back yes and even the victim answered back yes nonchalantly like this was a punishment. After I walked away from them ; this a kid with a LR started chasing me basically threatening to shoot me. But for some reason in the dream I kept trying to exit like it was a video game but I could never leave. Until I grabbed his gun and threw it. Then he pulled out a hammer. Until he gave up chasing me. After that I rode my skateboard trying to find a exit. Out of nowhere my friend joined my dream and I started to reiterate everything that happened to me previously in the dream (Still in the dream) We rode by a few people and these old men with basketball were around and I greeted them thinking they were friendly... but they started following us and one ending up having a hammer and the other with a dolly seeming they were gonna kidnap us. But we ended up exiting the complex and they basically chased us out. And they just ended up backing off.
Throughout this dream I wasn’t scared at all just very confused why I was dreaming about this. When I dream I usually do a lot of dream hopping for some reason. But I have no idea why I would even have this type of dream because I’m not exposed to any of those types of incidents or ect. But I’m open to and question or answer. Love to all 🤍

2 little kids of a family (that i don't personally know) were kidnapped by an unknown man
I'm a 20 year old female, INFJ personality type, virgo sun, scorpio rising, virgo moon (don't know if the last bit of information helps :p)
Last night in my dream, I was in a hotel room that wasn't my room at all. There was none of my stuff in the room, the only thing that suggests the room was used by someone was the unorganized sheets and some used towels in the bathroom. Not much of personal belongings.
So as I'm trying to figure out why I'm there, I turn the TV on. A documentary/news channel comes on, a sad blonde woman and a blonde man are looking for their children (the woman cleans her nose as she cries, the man puts his arms around her and looks at the floor)
After hearing about this, I open Twitter and see a direct message sent to me, from an unknown account. It says "so it's you that's researching this. *see you soon in Spanish* take care"
I woke up in the middle of the night and was frightened. I was 100% sure that this was the man who kidnapped the 2 kids and know he was coming for me. So yeah I nearly shat myself ^^
I know this isn't such a wild dream but it just felt so horrible to me... everything. If I would have to pick a film that gave me the same hopelessness/terror vibe I would go with "Inland Empire".
How would you interpret that? Thank you ♡

Reoccurring stolen car dream
Twice now I’ve had a dream where I was driving and I get stopped by a group of men, told to get in the backseat, and they steal my car while I’m in it. So kind of a kidnapping? And last night I had a dream where I remember locking my car before going into the gas station to find that it had been stolen in the five minutes I was inside.
I don’t know what this stolen car theme is lol

Met a man in my dream and I'm just curious if anyone else has seen him.
So I had a dream the other night and something about it just really stuck out to me.
So I was in the woods exploring some sort of abandoned building with some of my friends. All of a sudden they disppear and I'm completely alone. Then a man appears and immediately my mind registered that this man represents the devil. He told me his name was The Boiler.
He kidnapped me and brought me to this orphanage type place that's filled with a lot of other kids who seem to have also been kidnapped by him. Something about him didn't seem evil though, he seemed kind, but lonely.
He then gave me this beautiful dress and brought me to an ornate masquerade type ball. I honeslty felt like I had a lot of fun there. We went back to the orphanage and he told me once again that his name was The Boiler and that I should remember him.
Then I woke up.
I guess I'm just curious about people's interpretations of this. It felt eerily real, not so much the other characters, mainly The Boiler felt like an actual person talking to me.
So I guess just me know if you've met this guy or know if he's somehow significant.
