Yelling dreams are very common. Among other things yelling dreams are very postively interconnected, very emotional, friendly, aggressive, nightmare, and scary.

All dreams have meaning

You can gain insight from thinking about any dream, no matter how strange. Only you, as the dreamer, have final say on what your dream may or may not mean. Each dream is unique.

Look for the differences

The DreamWell dictionary provides information on how each dream symbol appears in dreams in general. Finding how experience yelling in dreams can be a key to understanding its meaning.

Return to the feelings

Our emotions in dreams can help us understand its meaning. Pay attention to how you felt in the dream. Pay attention to how you feel about yelling in dreams. See how you feel about yelling now, in your waking life.

What are possible meanings for dreams of yelling?

To understand the symbolism of yelling in a dream, think about why you might yell while awake: to get attention, express anger, make sure you are heard. Now consider situations where yelling is used and how dreams can expand on the idea.

You might want attention because you are being ignored, your needs aren’t being met, or you enjoy the spotlight. Yelling in a dream can be a way of acting out symbolism related to doing something that gets you noticed in a good way or a bad way. For example, your promotion at work causes a big stir among your co-workers, and you dream about being in the lobby at work when a commotion breaks out, and people yell your name.

Yelling as an expression of anger is a common use of the symbolism, as opposed to screaming, which is connected with fear and losing your cool. It often arises in dreams when anger isn’t being expressed or isn’t effective in changing the situation causing anger. Yelling that increases in volume and urgency can relate to attention, either trying to get it—you feel that someone isn’t really hearing you—or needing to give attention to something. For example, you know that a big test is coming up and you haven’t started studying for it, and the urgency is increasing. In your dream a yell becomes louder and more urgent. You need to study for that test!

Yelling is a raw expression of frustration and desire to get your point across. There is a difference between hearing and listening. Just because someone hears you doesn’t mean the person is really listening.

I asked God about the meaning of life?

I just had a semi-lucid dream where I was winter hiking with a photographer and my two cousins and we stumbled upon a small hole in the snow/ice that led to an enormous lair/dimension.

A godly statue that was in this lair thing started flashing light and eventually started moving. He made is way up to us; I said hi to him and asked him how he was, and he waved at me peacefully.

I then asked him, “What’s the meaning of life?” He didn’t answer or stop, he just continued walking up to us.

Once he got to us, he slowly started winding up the right side of his body, and he says, “The meaning of life… is THIS (slaps me with his ginormous right hand)”.

Everything around me (and myself) breaks into colourful fractals. It’s like with this one slap, he destroys the entire world.

After a few seconds of falling backward/downward into these small fractals, and hearing screams around me, I awoke in my bed.

Any possible ideas of what this might mean, if anything?! Did I piss off this God when I asked him the meaning of life, or was that the meaning of life?!

Hi, it’s 3pm now and I’m still kind of paralyzed by this dream pls help understand. Even cats were frightened by the energy this morning. going through some kind of spiritual awakening

So, I woke up with that weird feeling something must be wrong, then I saw that the light was turned on downstairs - I spent the night by myself, my partner decided to spent the night at his workplace. I was kind of scared and wanted to get up to turn it off but then my cat lay down on me to cuddle and I decided to wait until she had enough and would leave. Moments later I realized the light was turned off again!! Our second cat came upstairs and looked very frightened! I got really scared and decided to get up later, that thought seemed to soothe me. I fell asleep, So now what happened in my dream was that weird things would happen in our house, noises, floating objects. In that dream my partner was at home but our home looked a little different and I was trying to scream desperately to show him but there was no sound coming out of my mouth! Then I tried to to film with my phone what was happening but it didn’t work.. Then I heard a very loud buzzing in my ear, which happened quite often lately in wake life but not that intense.. I don’t even know if that buzzing ringing was in my dream or real, I remember scream and I honestly don’t know if I might have really scrscream “reality”. So, when I was fully awake I got up immediately, going downstairs and realizing the light was turned on - again !!

I’m really confused. As mentioned I’m going through a spiritual awakening but I have no idea what this might have been. Srsly grateful for any thoughts on that. I still feel very drained, energetically tired and can’t seem to let go. It keeps make me feel down .. tried yoga and high vibe meditation.

I told someone in my dream it was a dream and this happened? Help

This happened half an hour ago. TW// I kind of get molested in the dream

My dream started and it was in a warm, cozy house with a lit fireplace. There were 2 couches. On one couch was my sister curled up in blankets. On the other was my dad just laying there. My sister and I were just chatting about nothing when something possessed me to tell them it was a dream. I realized it was a dream (I’m not sure how, it just happens sometimes) and I wanted to see her reaction so I just... told her. I said “by the way, this is a dream. I’m dreaming and none of this is real.” Immediately after I said that I started suffocating. It felt like my throat was filling up with sand and I was choking trying to scream for help. I tried to scream for my dad for help. He just walked over to me and said. “I’m not your father. This is not your family. You weren’t supposed to say that.” Then, he started molesting me. screamed and suffocated until I woke up. Upon waking I checked the clock and it was exactly 3 am. Now I’m to scared just to get a sip of water. Can anyone explain what happened?

I lived inside a dream so long I killed myself

I went through such a long period in a dream it was so hard. In the dream I was a stay at home dad and my wife was a journalist. She had been investigating gangs in a prison. At one point point a riot had broken out and the leader of a gang was willing to do an interview during a transport. During this one of the gangs had a prison break plan, and my wife was in the middle, during which she was shot in the stomach. My consciousness was teleported there while gun fire rained down around us. She died in my arms. The following weeks after the funeral her parents wanted custody of our daughter because I refused that it was real. I would say things like “ill wake up soon” and “you cant take my anchor to this world” when it was all said and done I lost. So I hung myself from the balcony of the stairwell. As soon as I began to slip in and out of death I saw myself sleeping in a bed and I screamed “WAKE UP, PLEASE WAKE UP. THIS ISN’T REAL” when I woke up I scrambled into my kids room to make sure she was there. I called my wife to ask if she was ok and begged her to come home. To this day that still haunts me and causes me to not want to sleep.

horrible dream.

i went to sleep at 11:30ish. i woke up, 12:45, after having lived five whole fucking years of my life.

i don’t even remember what i did at the start of the dream, because it was five years ago.

i went through school, i graduated. with a scholarship. i deferred it and moved out two weeks later with three of my friends, one of which i do not expect to have in my future. all in june 2020

i had a boyfriend, we got together january 2020. i’ve known him for a while, we’re in talking stage right now.

i went to college in 2021 for nursing. i dropped out because i hated it, and held a job at a strip club as a waitress.

i did so much. i voted in the 2023 election. one of my friends died in a car accident. i had a dog, named riley. and my roommate had a ferret named pearl.

it ended in august 2024, was a wednesday but the date isn’t in my head. i came home and found 4 year long boyfriend banging my roommate. i walked in and saw them, it was a fight and they insisted it was “friendly” and “okay because it wasn’t romantic”. i remember every single second of that conversation. i was screaming at the top of my lungs and so were they. i eventually got mad enough to leave, i slammed the door behind me and the hallway started looking off. i figured it was the tears welling my eyes making my vision all wonky so i shut my eyes really tight. i opened them, and there i was in the bedroom of the house i moved out of 5 years earlier.

i lived 5 years into the future in an hour. i woke up and i don’t know who i am anymore. i don’t have the same experiences that built me. i don’t have any motivation. i just DID everything i dot want to do it again.

i don’t know if this is exactly the place to write this. but i’m so disheartened and grieving and i’m terrified.
