What are possible meanings for dreams of psyches?
The psyche is the complete picture of the mind, made up of separate and interacting structures like pieces of a puzzle fit together. Structures of the psyche include ego, persona, the unconscious, archetypes, and anima/animus, each of which has an entry, listed below.
The core of the psyche—aka the “archetypal Self”—is modeled as an octahedron. Each face of the top pyramid of the octahedron represents a primary archetype and connects with its contrasexual counterpart, represented by a bottom face of the pyramid. (Contrasexual means “traits of the opposite gender.”) Each archetype branches out to connect with other parts of the psyche, like chess in 3-D. Explaining how it all works is a book in itself.
For our purpose, the psyche is important because it is the internal environment of the mind illustrated by subjective dreams. (Much-less-common objective dreams focus on events of your life and the conditions of your external environment.) Dreams are produced in the unconscious by a structure known as “the Self,” which is the complete picture of who you are, both conscious and unconscious. At the core of the Self are the primary archetypes. The Self is the painter, a dream is the painting, and the psyche is the thing painted.
The psyche is a self-regulating system that uses dreams to help create balance and advance its development. Understanding how the psyche works is foundational knowledge for understanding dreams and how they show developmental processes within it. A great city beyond a gate, next to an abyss, beyond which were two towers.
I don't dream often, let alone remember them, but this dream left such an impression on me I simply had to share it somewhere.
I dreamed that I was on a trip with some friends from college. I was with a guy, and we wandered into some trees next to a paved street, and we found a Torii (a kind of "holy gate" in many Japanese shrines (I'm half Japanese and live in Japan, which is why I believe my psyche used the image of the Torii)). Beyond the Torii, just to the left, was a great city. Dozens of buildings in a European architectural style. To the right was a gaping abyss that fell away into nothing, and beyond the abyss, on the other side of the gulf, was a green hill covered in fog that gently sloped down to the right, and at the bottom of the hill were two towers. These towers were roughly equal in height. One resembled a more sharply tapered Washington Monument, and the other the Empire State Building.
What was more interesting to me in the moment, though, was a church/bell tower that was visible over the tops of the buildings to me left. There was a giant orb at the top of the bell tower, floating up and down as if it was suspended in air, and it seemed to alternate between being a giant metal ball, and a red paper lantern (chochin) everytime I looked at it.
Something about the scene was so beautiful that I almost felt like crying, and I asked my friend if we could just check out the tower in the city to the left. Just as we were about to start walking (and therefore cross the threshold of the torii), I was woken up by my alarm.
I don't dream often, let alone remember them, but this dream left such an impression on me I simply had to share it somewhere.

Dreamt of endless verbal abuse and taking my own life
I just woke up from a horrible dream. I dreamt that I was still living with my foster parents but it was the worst time of my life.
I was constantly berated, constantly yelled at, critiqued, threatened and harrased. They threatened me to submitted to a psyche ward. Something they have actually threatened me with irl
They threatened to take my things, something that they alao did irlBut this berating was constant, day in, day out, every day, for every little thing I did.
I didn't go to school one day, and they called me pathetic. I cut my hair short and preferred wearing black. They called me mentally ill and weird.
Eventually I was so distressed that I smashed a plate and decided to slit my wrists while we had an afternoon snack. And it wasn't the self harming way, it was the fatal way.
They screamed and berated me once more as I stood up and left the house, dripping blood and almost passing out
Crazy stuff

Re-occurring dream
I often have a reoccurring dream about a male friend (although he is gay in real life) and (I am a straight female) but in my dream we are in love and intimate. Like, truly in love.
What does this mean?
For the record, I am single and have been for some time so it could just be my psyche using a male figure to project something I want. But why him?

Strange Recurring Dream about a Girl
So, I moved in to my friend's house while I'm waiting to start school in August. From Day 1 when I moved in, I have been having this strange recurring dream every night. My bedroom has a door which connects to the attic entrance. In the dream, I'm sitting in bed and the door opens. A large dog (roughly 7 feet tall so definitely not a normal dog) comes out of the room. The dog is entirely brown with glowing green eyes. Following the dog is a small female child. She is tanned and has a pixie cut haircut black hair and green eyes. Then another dog follows the child out of the room, identical to the first dog.
The dogs do absolutely nothing at all, and the girl stares at me for some time, before walking back into the closet. An adult woman then emerges from the closet, and I can tell it's the same person just grown up. She has long black hair now that goes to her mid back wears a thin black gown and she is barefoot, her feet look muddy and she is holding two torches. She also stares at me for a while before returning to the closet. Then an old woman comes out, grey hair in a messy bun, wearing a floor length gown, and again, I can tell it's the same girl just as an elderly woman, but the torches are gone now. Again I'm stared at for a while, then I wake up from the dream.
This dream happens every night and it's the most vivid dream I've ever had. I'm not sure what my psyche is trying to tell me. The only variation in the dream is that occasionally the clothes change colors, the dogs are always there and never do anything, and the girls always have the same hair / faces. Clearly something is going on that my subconscious is picking up on, any clues folks?
